  2. Home office is an expert installer. how many times did you rig mine Frank.lmao!
  3. I really liked my 96 seaswirl striper walkaround hardtop. Excellent ride for the size. I had it out in some snotty waters with no problems.
  4. Bob, I ALWAYS get up to fish! In fact I am usually the first one out of the crew to get out of the rack. Sometimes I just don't go to bed.
  5. Gobble them down and tell everyone they suck!
  6. Rough up the underside good with abrasive paper and wipe down with laquer thinner or something then fiberglass it.
  7. Thanks Hank. I really appreciate it. It is pretty large boat and I have it hauled as I do not have a trailer.
  8. Take it off and reinforce it with fiberglass cloth and resin on the underside. NAPA has a cheap kit that would be enough to do the job for about 12 bucks. DONE!
  9. I have a 1987 with twin Merc 260 hp i/o's with full dual station controls. Starboard engine will not go into reverse. I can adjust it so I will get reverse but then I lose forward gear. I cant seem to get it just right. Is an adjustment needed on the bridge controls too. Is there an easier way to adjust it? Maybe Hank has a an idea for me to try. Any help would be great
  10. Andy, just tie your own snelled hooks with 50 pound seagar with the longer leaders. Add a couple beads while your at it. real easy to do.
  11. WWIV, he really had a ball catching that stinking thing. It was pretty funny. He likes 20+ pounders on the 500 copper rig best!
  12. Thanks for you help SHADE OF GRAY. You are starting to be a great help to your dad.
  13. Sands really easily. Never gummed up my paper either. The stuff is just nasty, kinda like dust from larch wood. I wanted to seal it so I only have to seal it again once a year or less. The way you described finishing would look great but would require more frequent maintenance.
  14. What L&M said. I would go with the Johnson. I had an 85 force on a bought a few years ago. It ran excellent and gave me great service. Older force motors were rated a bit under power too from what I was told. My motor finally blew up and cost me $1,700.00 to rebuild. I sold it right after that. I know parts are getting real hard to find for the older forces. The newer force motors I believe were made by mercury.
  15. SIKKENS CETOL IS SOME AMAZING STUFF
  16. Had to take a break from prepping the boat for the season and take the boys perch fishing. We had a blast! Never saw so many boats on Cayuga at any time. I had to park out of the launch area as it was full. A zillion boats around Frontenac Island and Red Jacket yacht club. We avoided the crowd and went further North. We filled a five gallon bucket to the top. We tried to keep 10 inches and up. Many fish were 12 inches plus and several bigger. biggest was 14". We ventured up to the trussel and found nothing. Then we fished in front of Habiscus Harbor and in the actual marina looking for crappies. We found a couple keeper perch and my youngest boy landed a big nasty carp on 4 pound line and a jig and minnow. Heres some details: 12-13 feet of water 48-49 water surface temp 150 yards due north of the Green buoy that is South of Habiscus Harbor and North of Frontenac. Fatheads and small painted head jigs (no hair or plastic) color didnt matter.
  17. Heres a quick shot of the teak I have been sanding on. It is amazing how it looks after you put a finish on it. Heres a pic of the 1st coat of three. What a dusty mess.
  18. Sounds like Sharkey will be the guy to corrupt this summer guys. Sharkey, 3 beers left over from last year? There isnt a season on beer swillin you know. I put the first coat of teak on the boat today. Man it was getting tight for room in there, lots of empty cans. It takes a lot of buds to properly sand down the teak and keep the dust down.
  19. You guys are going to make people think the RED DOCK likes to drink. That damn UMBRELLA HEAD AKA WHISKEY MAN is bringing the dock down!
