I did that short video to help guys that are running Navionics+ and are not sure on how to add or remove some datas on their card. Useful for the guys that are using Elite7 (older Elite) or the Elite5 HDI

I always link my HDS to my app on my iPad to improve or create a new map.
Here an example.

If you have a Screen Print function on the computer (or Screen Print program) you can also zoom to the detail you wish on the lakes and then save the screen prints for ice fishing etc. for the lakes that you fish so that you have them immediately available to review. I set them up in folders by lake and store specific detailed individual areas I fish on them.
I use my Navionics App; no paper for me.

The further you zoom in the more detail the maps will load. This will cover Lake Ontario, the Finger Lakes, St. Lawrence River, etc. Link above or you can click on the "Maps" link in the main navigation. Enjoy exploring!

You couldn't add the sonarchart button on the bottom left corner?

For those of you that fish Keuka lake there is some good news from Navionics:

Nice video that shows how to use it and what you are getting with it:

Thanks, that's what I was thinking. I was told that the map card had to be from 2005 or older.
Or to order a 2gig from Navionics or find a new Navionics+ when they hit the market first; they were 2gigs

Before you buy a Navionics+ Regions East card, try one in your unit first. I have one in my HDS8 that you are welcome to try. I'll PM you my cell number.
A Navionics Région won’t work they are 4 and 8 gig and the older unit can’t run more then 2 gigs
-
I think the best thing to do is to order directly from Navionics. Send a email to: [email protected] and ask them how to order the 2gig Navionics+ card
-
-
If you can't find a old Hotmap you can order a Navionics+ small. Small mean a 2gig card. The old unit can't read a card of more then 2gig

Hope I'm not wrong twice, but I will test this next time I'm out to make sure!
You are right; as soon you link your mfd and the app it start recording in the background

Also note that even if you turn off Sonarchart Live, it keeps recording in the background and you can turn its display back on if you want.
I don't think so

@Smat64, I would turn off Autochart Live since the contours look pretty accurate on that map already.
Autochart Live is for Humminbird; it's sonarchart live for Navionics, Lowrance & Simrad

Also you can download the app for a free trial for 2 weeks with full capability

Just to be sure you are getting the right tablet, this is a compatibility list:

If you want to use a IPad for a gps you need to get one with cell capability because they have a integrated gps inside; if not you will need to get an antenna thatyou can connect to a IPad. So the best tng is to get a IPad with cell capability.
Get up to $75 with Navionics
