For my part I'm going with the new hydraulic AP from Lowrance. The integration through the 2000 NMEA will make the installation easy. The other complain when we are talking about AP is the slow trolling problem; the ap workd in conjunction with the gps and the gps need some speed to work properly but with the Lowrance Point-1 (Point-1 is a electronic and also a compass antenna) that will give a better operation at slow speed.

Sonic hub and sonar hub are 2 differents things

Thanks for all the replies. Heading to the west coast in February to pick out a Hewescraft or Kingfisher.
There is 2 Kingfisher dealers in the province of Quebec and the way it goes now the US $ is almost 20% over the Can.$

The margin for the retailers is very thin on that kind of stuff, so I don't see any selling that way less then another. If so, be careful it may not going smoothly specially over the internet.

Take the time to look! and specially to the new Elite Series with CHIRP! Excellent choice for the kind of fishing we do on LO.
There is also a new hydraulic auto-pilot base on the Simrad and a model for the cable steer steering system

Very easy to get the compliancy paper. You send a e-mail to the trailer builder with the ser# and model and they will send you a letter by e-mail.
99% of the trailers are build in the US

I don't know if you're Sitex is on that list: SVS-460 4, SVS-560 5, SVS-750, SVS-760 7 but if the answer is yes, the Navionics+ is compatible and you will get SonarCharts: 1foot contour to 80ft.,and 3ft contour to 180ft if my memory is right.
SonarChartsâ„¢ is an HD bathymetry map featuring extraordinary bottom contour detail, great for increasing awareness of shallow waters and for locating fishing areas at any depth level.
You also get Community edit and free up-date for a year.
-
The Navionics+. You will get 1 year of free update + the sonarcharts.
-
In the same class of Hewscraft there is the Kingfisher (Harbercraft) and it's build in Canada in the province of British Columbia (west coast). The fact that it is a Canadian made boat and the value of the Canadian $$ vs the US $ the price could be lower then you think.

More and more are using the Navionics app on theire phone or tablets but there is a function that is not use or not known and it is the Community Edit. What it is? Because a picture worth a thousand words, look at this video:

Before buying a Platinium be sure that you're unit can read the Platinium. The Elite series can't.
Compatibility list: http://www.navionics.com/sites/www.navionics.com/files/documents/Americas_CompatibilityGuide_2.pdf
For the Platinium users don't forget to activiate the Fish N Chip function to benefit the Sonarcharts!
If you purchase a new Navionics don't forget to register you're card within 60 days of purchase on the Navionics webstore to get a full year of Freshest Data.
-
With a LCX28 you won't get the sonarcharts or FnChip.
Look at this document: http://www.navionics.com/sites/www.navionics.com/files/documents/Americas_CompatibilityGuide_2.pdf

Instead of going to a Gold you better off with the new Navionics+ with sonarcharts. With the Nav+ you create you're own customize map.
What model of Lowrance are you running?

The good way to shut down any HDS is to touch the power button then power off on the Menu. Shutting it down holding the power button does the same effect on shutting down you're pc with the power button= No good!
As mentionne be sure you're running the latest update

It can be update for free for a year following you're purchse if register within the first 2 months of the purchase; then after a year it cost $99 to get a update for another year of free update.

Same as the Simrad. Navico owns Simrad & Lowrance
I'm using Lowrance since 1975 and never had any problem.
Many mooving parts?: a pump and a box (computer) 2 wires for the power+ & - and a NMEA 2000 connection
I run 2 Raymarien AP and didn't like them (not easy to set-up) and the last one couldn't be use for trolling nelow 2mph and when I call Ray they say that's the way it works.
