The only bad comment on this unit was the slowleness of the gps but with the latest update from Lowrance the problem has been resolve.

I'm surprise that it is not being sold at that price.

Gps too or not?

Comes with the Insight so it's a GPS and it comes with the: 455/800/83/200 transducer. That unit is a CHIRP also.

For somebody that is looking for a large screen with downscan, 2D and CHIRP that is an excelent opportunity

One of the major complaint about those units was the slowliness of the gps. Lowrance has just pull out an update to fix this.

When you say preloaded they are not. The maps are coming on a SD card with a mini (MSD) card so it can be use in differrent model of chartplotter. The newer chartplotter comes with a Navionics+.

You can mount both ducers a few in's apart but the Structure scan needs to be lower; when you do a install like this you can use the overlay downscan feature.

You can also put the Structure scan ducer on the opposite side but still need to be lower. You will have to trim-up you're main engine to free-up the view on the side-scan

I run a Airmar. TM150 ducer with my Gen3 and don't get any interference when I chirp.

The TM150 frrun run between 95 and 150

1 amp doesn't seem like enough juice with all the electronics we run.

But that's the reality!

On my previous boat running a Yamaha T8 I had to have 2/27 size batteries to keep everything functionning: 3 Lowrance units, vhf, 2 downriggers.

For those that are running Verado with the electric power steering it is strongly recommended to run a pro-kicker 15hp. Maybe it's possible to use the 15hp rectifier on a 9.9?

Most if not all the kickers in the 8 and 9.9 developp 6 amps at full trottle and about 1amp when trolling

I'm running a Lowrance Gen3 with a Airmar TM-150 (transom mount) and I'm more then satisfied. I use medium CHIRP all the time.

You ust need to order the right kit:

Possible to run 2 Lowrance at different frquencies and if you got interferences you lower the sensitivity and the ping speed.

With a Lowrance and a HB it's impossible because with the Humminbird even if you choose a frequency the unit continue to emit the other one in the background.

The contour on teh Platinium and the Nav+ are exactly the same. The only differences are the satellite view and the Sonarcharts already on it and oh yes the Platinium is by region.

If you're running a Gen3 connect it to a Navionics Boating app and it will improve the card

Be aware that the Gen2 Touch is not CHIRP capable.
