SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS (friday pre fish)

aw man this was a fun weekend and i'm disapointed that i have too wait a whole year for it too come agian todays kinda like the ride home from a good vacation LOL, ok here is how it went down for us (in a blaze or glory) .lol started out friday evening for a little check the water temps and picture out for the morning to come, set down in 80 fow off the pump house set the auto pilot on a north west troll and was suprized to see the temps didn't change much from the wind we had all week! set rigger 55 to 100 down and mag dive's out 140 and 160 on 1.5 settings with spin doc's and flys, outside of them we had the slide diver's with mag spoons out 160 and 180 on 2.5 settings everything was firing, spoons where moonshine carbon 14 and doudle trouble, northern king glow gator, and stinger 42nd for spoons. spin dotor's were the 42nd and a chrome green dot. Everthing would take shots and we boated 15 to 20 fish in 4.5 hrs with 2 kings over 20lb so we where feeling good about working though the smaller one's in the morning to make a nice box of 4 bigger fish in the morning for the shootout! We headed back too port and got eveything ready to throw down in the morning too come.

    (saturday morning)

We left the dock at first light ran down past the pump house and set up in about 120 fow set on a north west troll, started hitting fish right away small steelhead and skipper kings with a lake trout dragging here and there going though the lines every 15 mins to make sure no laker's were swimming along with us killing are spread about 2 hrs in and we had 16lb king and a 11lb king out of 10 fishing we would hit another dozen fish over the next few hrs with the best size of 7 or 8 lbs now we had 4 in the box and need to up grade big time so the team made the dicision to move off the pile of bait and fish in the 140 range of water and move out side of it to see if we could find some later in the morning active larger ones! same thing slow pick of small fish with no real upgrade till about noonish the 180 mag wire take's off screamimg and i know this will be an up grade fish! Elliott's got the rod after struggling to get it out of the holder and 15 mins later a 18lb king hit the deck and he fell victom too the 42nd spin doc with a siggs green apple fly! Ok things were looking better with the box, thinking we needed atleast one more up grade to get into the money of a large feild of good fisherman! 1:30pm hits and low and behold the too large kings come on to the sceen I quickly tell are two rods man alex and elliott too watch the rods no sooner I said it the same wirer take's off a secound time with another screemer! After two big runs the fish stopped for about 5 secounds and would turn to make his 3rd run to never be turn (gone)! The line went limp and all of are excitment was lost :( we pulled lines and headed to weigh in too see where we would stand and would find out that we where just a few pounds short with are 92.25 point box to finish in the money ending are day in 10th place. we would hang out and chat with some good folks , have some food from the vendor and win some tackle with the door prize give away! all in all was a good day and we had are chance's to finish better but hay thats the fun of fishing high's and lows good time's were had on the tomahawk once agian! HATS off the the TROUT-N -ABOUT team for there 2nd sandy creek shoot out win!

  2. Oswego, NY -- Patrick A. Mahoney, who was found guilty and sentenced for assaulting a fisherman in the Salmon River last year, will not begin serving his sentence this weekend pending an appeal of his conviction.

Mahoney’s lawyer, David Antonucci, of Watertown, said he has filed an appeal arguing the judge did not allow certain evidence during the trial and Mahoney’s action of yelling and waving his arms at victim William Murray at the river April 8, 2010 did not constitute violence.

He also filed for a stay of the sentence pending the appeal, which was granted Thursday in Oswego County Court.

Mahoney, 43, of state Route 13, Altmar, was found guilty March 4 by an Albion town court jury of reckless assault and petit larceny, both misdemeanors, and with a violation of the state Department of Environmental Conservation law for fighting in a fishing area.

Albion Justice Howard Allen Jr. sentenced him to 10 weekends in the Oswego County jail to begin Friday. He also was sentenced to a one-year conditional discharge, with the conditions being paying restitution to the victim, performing 100 hours of community service and taking an anger management course.

A three-year order of protection also was

  3. ok rick ,here's how i do it too keep everyone happy and its very simple keep ur ( A Game )stuff together in a box or shelf and let em pick from that ! thats how the tomahawk rolls and i smile as my little fisherman and fisherwoman hand me a gater or nbk to put down !:clap::clap: the goverment dose it too us normal people and SH(t rolls down hill but at least ur giving them good stuff to pick from this way. Captain up ! If that don"t work rip the sleeve"s off ur shirt get alitte greece on them arms of urs and smile at her she mite be trying to tell ya something ! :o

  4. ok were is the speed speed speed guy when ya need him?????? ray ray ok ya got the speed thing down how about temps on ur 900 ? temp is just as important as speed, if there is a ton of cold water around on the south shore as there is now you'll be looking for some warmer water brakes and as the lake sets up you'll be looking for that colder water! i personaly like the 42-54 degree water and 2.5 too 3.0 when after salmon and steelies ! also if i'm marking fish on the finder and there not striking i oftain speed up or pull back on the throttle swinging my weights back or forth, works super on some days when they have lock jaw ! there are no real rule's just guide lines you kinda stay in so play with everyones numbers and see what works for you, as thing will change from day to day out there hope this helps ya out alittle.
