  1. haven't tried it yet ray? works fine, you'll like it. no need to loop line up thru jaw and back down thru metal loop again like the directions tell ya. basically you're just turning the roamer into a black for release purposes and still have the convenience of the roamer for stacking. glad to hear on here about the chance of roemer being out of business. will keep my eye open for them now and start stocking up.

  2. I can only speak for last year (1st of many springs I will be there)....but my best bite came on 28s or smaller. Did nothing on Mags.
don't know if you got a canadian license last year or not but i've been going there for about the last 20 spring derbies and wouldn't leave home without it.with the ice water flowing out of the niagara some years it can make all the difference. it has saved more than a few derbies for us and the welland canal is always a nice option. even off the can we prefere the deeper water off the candian side of the drop. we consistantly catch the larger mature kings on that side plus theres much less boat traffic...which might have something to do with it....good luck
  3. you can twist a loop in the line anytime you want but you need to place the loop in the release with it closed or will just keep pulling out as it should when you get a release. and i agree that you need to pop your rods and check them now and then for hitchhikers especially if fishing for lakers or walleyes.

  4. i do the same....blacks on bottom...stack roamers on top.i quit looping the line thru the jaws of the roamers tho years ago. i jusy loop the line and put it thru the metal loop at bottom of roamer the same way you do the black. lot quicker and easier, don't have to worry about chewing up your line and just as effective.

  5. thanks for the info. sounds like you had a good day. maybe i'll try it in closer. you're right about the huge gils/sunnies in that lake. do pretty well on them in spring/ summer. never tried thru the ice for them. i was hoping to get around the middle for the walleyes where i have done alright on them in the past but the like the others said it really is hit or miss. thanks again for the comeback.

  6. Well? How did you do?

    I got 14 crappies. I caught one sub-legal walleye. All on tip-downs.

do you guys know how the ice is out in the middle in front of trident. i 've fished the south end 3 times now with little luck. i prefer the north but the way the geese have it opened up i have been reluctant to go near it. hoping to use up my large bass bait fro the past weekend before it becomes uncertified. any info much appreciated....
  7. [qui think you better slow down on the beer bob. that score would be more like reversed.....at the end of the first half....ote=muskybob]OK, final score = Giants 22 Patriots 13

OUCH, I think I just got spanked.

Wcongrats on the pick.that was unbelievable. maybe you should move to las vegas.ell, 17 to 14 wasn't far off. Welcome to the site ladyblugill.
