LOL....would that mean it wouldn't be a advantage to catch 30 and thro back your smallest 27. culling is allowed in the open division from what I remember but have not been following lately so could be wrong and a MERRY X-MAS to all.

i guess it wasn't me. I have 56 acres in the parma/Hilton area and went out Thursday morning for the opener as usual. only heard one gobbler on the roost and for about an hour longer. then bang, and my neighbor probably got him. after that only saw 2 hens. the worst I have seen it in over 10 yrs. thought maybe it was the tough winter or coyote problem. saw plenty of turkeys last fall but a unusual amount of coyotes also while deer hunting. was out sunday evening checking things out and saw only 4 turkeys 3 hens and the tom that probably was shot in one group. the thing is I also counted 17 deer, the most I have ever counted on the property at one time. so the bad winter/coyotes didn't hurt them any. I don't get it but do know they aren't on that block as usual. I've never got skunked for the may season but am not very confident this yr.

is that like the youth deer hunt is going to encourage the next generation to become hunters? lol...thank you for your opinion also. like i said everyone has their own agenda.

and for the record i say let them all end. the recreational fisherman have been nothing but screwed by all these tournaments. i don't believe the fishery was started to be this devisive and commercialized. everyone is into their own agenda and mostly for their own profit or selfish gain.when these things end is when we will see 40 lb'ers caught again.

i think you had the right idea rodbuster. the lake didn't get any bigger. yes it was warmer. i guess it was just the kings that stopped feeding earlier. how about last yr. when the summer derby winner was about 6 lbs. bigger than the fall winner? i can't wait to hear next yrs. excuses. it will probably be bush's fault..lol...of course it won't have to do with all the fishing pressure. (tournaments).

i agree. the east end events seem to be more fishing/tourney friendly to the weekend warriors and smaller boats. i live 5 minutes from the lake on the west end. i must admit to have gotten lazy to traveling much for salmon fishing. i wish there were more tourneys down this way like atomic tom puts on out that way. nice job..tom ..that aside i hope the open division of the pro/ams takes off. would like to fish a few but need another hour or two to fish. probably would have to wrap it up by 10 or 10:30 to make it back to the launch, load and trailer to the weigh station...if everything goes well.

the g.f. and myself would definately be interested but without knowing at least the basics of the rules it would be hard to say for sure. i've posted on here numerous of times before over the yrs about smaller boats being at a disadvantage and the obstacles that an observer along with the additional cost would present to us. in a 19.5 ft. boat it just wouldn't be feasable for us. i understand the need for them but still have to look at the bottom line on whether it is worth competing or not. we have already discussed fishing the open division of the pro am this yr. if the participation were to increase which other than the short fishing hours was the reason we didn't in the past. that format suits us well and if this endeavor was to take place we would be happy to fish both. but without knowing the format it would be just impossible to give a go or not. i am curious to know however what would constitute a pro if this were to be a am. event only. would it be anyone with a captains license or would those that don't actively charter be included to fish.

i think it should be just a half day event. say weigh in at noon sat. forget about big fish friday and just double the entry fee to $1600. go big or stay home. just thought i would put in my 2 cents of drama before the topic reaches the 8th page.

i agree ...i think if we put in a protest now we could a rule change for next yr. ..but then again how much did that fish help you get the 2n'd place finish ?...congrats to all the participants and next yr. i will be there one way or the other. on a side note i think the commitee should think about awarding a donuts prize. after all if someone drives 280 miles to fish the event....thats the least you can do...
