  1. Hello Chris: Take 34 B south down from Owasco towards meyers point. It is a nice drive closer to the lake then Rt. 34 is. Don't forget if you want some of those big Cayuga Browns target the bottom structure where it intersects the thermocline, usually 50-80' this time of year. You can bump the bottom with your rigger, set your release up a few feet on the cable so not to snag. Also if you do this keep your drop back of the lure to a minimum(20-30'). This tactic requires lots of work, but may get you the lunker? Also check the weather if the wind is out of the north west be prepared for some rough chop in the lakes middle. Good luck! The Remedy(when she sails)
  2. Thanx. for the info! The water quality in Seneca seems alot better and has less grass and fleas. Cayuga has better fish, what a delema? The Remedy
  3. Anyone have advice on keeping your downrigger lines clear of all this crap as you troll through the Thermocline? Was up all week over the 4th caught mainly Lakers, some over ten pounds. Thanx. The Remedy(is what I am looking for here?)
  4. Hello Mike: I know this lake very well, just have never still fished it. I always troll for the salmonoids and lakers. You should fish off of the bluffs towards the point on the east side of the lake. Find some bottom structure, like drop offs etc, then drop down to them. Fish should be active 30' to 70' down right now. You cannot leave this lake without your limit of Lakers, it is polluted with them. Hope you get some decent ones. lot's of 18-22" in the lake? The Remedy
  5. Hello: The family and I and another couple are coming up to rent a place over the holiday week. I have never fished past Sheldrake Point, any suggestions for the Dean's Cove area? That is our base, my boat has 200 horses so getting down the lake is no issue except for the fuel usage. Thanx. The Remedy
  6. Thanx. guys! I was letting them out to fast to get other stuff done so I could sit there and watch the poles go up and down with the wake. I did use braided line on the dipsy pole and it works well just hard to set that pole right for the rigger releases. Any one run plugs off of those divers, would it give greater action to the plug? Thanx. The Remedy(soon)
  7. hello Splitshot: Left your number in the truck, needed it on the lake, but whatever. My father and I caught a couple 8-10 lakers, but only shaker salmon and no bows or browns. What is up with that? Thanx. The Remedy
  8. Could someone fill me in on the tricks with the dipsy divers. I have always fished downriggers and leadcore and am now exploring the divers. I caught two nice lakers on them, but continued to have trouble with them spinning and twisting up and not releasing when you go to real in. The problem seemed to manifest when the divers were rotated on the disc to go out to the side more. Is this causing the spinning and twisting? How tite is the release to be set, I like to troll at 2.5 to 3 mph to get the larger fish who bite quickly out of fear and excitment. Try realing in the larger diver even with the boat off or turned down is a real bear. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated? Also anyone ever caught anything out of Skaneatlees or the clear lake? Thanx. The Remedy
  9. Thanx. Again: We will be up Monday with the riggers ready and try some green flys and spoons.
  10. Is this flea issue the white slimey **** that builds up on your rigger lines during the warmer months? Thanx. The Remedy
  11. Hello: I am taking my father up to Cayuga next week and wanted to know if the Salmonoids have gone down a bit with the recent warm weather? I come up from central PA and will probably launch out of the south end of the lake and head up towards meyers point. Was up over memorial day and was catching some fish down about 20' on purple alewive spoons. Any other suggestions? Thanx. The Remedy
  12. Hello: Seneca is hit or miss. You should try small Yozuri crystal minnows black top/silver side/white bottom a must. Troll them on black rigger balls back 100' from the weight at 2 mph. Then zig zag and do random stops and starts and keep the baits just above the lakers since they have a tendency to hit up on those white bottom plugs. At worse case just go to Kueka if you want some lake trout action and they are wild there. The Remedy!
  13. Hello: Just up there about two weeks ago and fished from meyers down to the south end. Boated a couple really nice lakers(5-7 lbs) but was not targeting them. Try 40-50 ft down in 200 FOW at around two miles an hour with purple alewive spoons 3-4 " length with 75-100 of line behind your rigger. Enjoy and good luck? The Remedy
