  1. hang on... Statewide regulations are as follows: black bass are open to limit 5 specimens a day from the 3rd saturdy in June to November 30. Bass are otherwise not legal to KEEP from December 1 through the Friday prior to the 3rd Saturday in June - yet you can still target them using artificial baits. Finger lakes except for Cayuga, Otisco, Owasco, Skaneateles are open to a day's limit of 5 fish, from 3rd sat in June to March 15 (those exempted are subject to state rules). However, species NOT in season may NOT be targeted in any manner. If caught by chance, an out of season species must be released asap.
  2. I was cruising along the shore between Braddock Bay and Cranberry last summer, and I saw a huuuuuge esox sitting near the surface of the crystal clear water. I tried to get a good look of the monster but the thing didn't want me at all near it. So I attempted chasing it for a while, but she went to deep water too quick. It very well could have been a northern, and that's what I believed it to be, but the thing was definitely over 40" and only once have I pulled a northern out of the area that big. Who knows...
  3. i actually like a totally free-swinging hook. usually i will place the trailer hook on first and then slide on a small, but big enough, piece of tube to keep the hook from coming off. it's just annoying to me when the tube is placed around the trailer eye; sometimes the hook is too snug and gets stuck in the wrong position.
  4. i know where cooper's pond is, but how do you gain access to it?
