  1. Just fished Oswego with cut bait for last 3 days. Used big white paddle and one day it outperformed spin doctors, think it was 8 hits and 4 landed. Others days it was a fish or two. Think its good choice this time of year. [ Post made via iPhone ]
  2. Had planned to fish the Light House but let little things like work, weather, need to fish in the southern parts keep my old fishing partner n me from entering at last minute. So we decideded to fish for fun on his pontoon boat he just picked up a after missing out the last several years. No speed, no fish finder, just a couple of big johns and wouldnt you know....we got lucky just a little north of deans cove as we couldnt take driving any further south. Thought I should post to those who never think they would have a chance. Could have been one of those guys holding an envelope...ya never know. Guess will be in it next year but most likley there will be bigger fish showing up in the B dicision....but ya never know...... It was good to fish with the guy who got me started on Cayuga though....brown took a small diver out 200 with an NBK.
  3. Nice bow, that's a trophy! [ Post made via iPhone ]
  4. Able to sneak out early today in same area. Trying to run a silver fish program and managed one okay salmon but that was it. Lake was snotty so switched over to LP area, nicer ride but no silvers for me. Thanks for the reminder about jet divers, recall that working for me a few years ago in that same area. Anyone catching any browns up here? They seem to be hiding the last few years, use to catch one now and then, some decent size too.
  5. Went out a little after 4 hoping to catch some lakers for the smoker. Cow bells, 60 fow and in front of the 2 Silos. Well I've heard it called the Laker nursery before, name still fits. Grabbed a juvenile then a nice one about 8lbs. Missed another then around 6:15 bite was on. Landed 6 fish in 40 minutes solo. 4 on the cowbell set at 60, one on a 10 color and another on the 5 color with a small salmon mixed in All fish were good enough size for eating but nothing bigger than 6 lbs. Firing up the smoker now. [ Post made via iPhone ]
  6. In case anyone was wondering, it's still on fire. Yesterday we were treated like kings, 15 for 20. Boxed out by 8. We fished 70 to 100fow down 30 -40 with equal rigger and small dipsey bite but all on spoons. Never had that much fun in Oswego or much elsewhere. If they continue to stay around it's a place you need to fish. We did not land any monsters but they are all KiNGS! [ Post made via iPhone ]
  7. We had an interesting scene this morning. Brother took an older past prime buck early. Dropped after 25 yrds. Decided to continue some rattling and grunting as he likes to fill his freezer. Few minutes later here comes the big 6pt we've been chasing. Seems he gets a whiff of the old buck down and feels he needs to work him over even though he's dead. My brother calls me while this goes on for 10 minutes. Not wanting his venison tenderized he tries to scare away as it's too far out of range to shoot. Nothing worked. Finally the 6 leaves but not sure if it's safe to dress him with just an arrow for protection? If you see how that thing pushed around that buck with ease it gives you more respect for the power these rut raged guys have. When he returns with the 4 wheeler guess who was bedded down 35 yrds away, same 6 PT. He moved away and after dragging the old buck down the road 1/4 mile dressed and called it a day. 9. Fished long point late morning yesterday. Pickup up lots of those smaller high jumping salmon and landed a nice bow almost 7 lb's. Riggers down 45 to 55 over 120 to 180 fow. Had wire out but no takers. [ Post made via iPhone ]
  10. Nice bow! Good to see the north end getting some press this time of year. We had the same results north of sheldrake last week as well, seems consistent. [ Post made via iPhone ]
  11. Great condition, just resealed, take any fair offer. Located in Endicott ny [ Post made via Android ]
  12. Hit it early from long point to sheldrake in the deep water. 8 for 9 mostly 6-8 lbs on wire with F/F from 250 to 325 out. Did have a spoon bite down 90 on rigger using black n silver evil eye for a while near LP. Finished with double and big fish of the day at 11:30am. No fleas but weeds caused a lot of extra resets. Had one catch a wire that took forever to get back in it was reinforced with sticks. Overall another great steady day on Cayuga. [ Post made via iPhone ]
  13. Fished the north end today on a friends boat. Admit I've been fishing further south last several weeks but we had zero flea issues today on north end We found some fish to keep the skunk away in 110 fow On wire rigs out 300 but nothing that big [ Post made via iPhone ]
  14. Up there snowmobiling a few yrs ago at a great little bar on the lake "Tap room" is the name of it. They had some postings of a tournament for lakers and I recall they were 4 to 7 lbs for the ones that placed, sounded like they had some fish to work for. Great sceanery up there as you probably know. Good luck and let us know if you do anything. [ Post made via iPhone ]
  15. Set up at Sheldrake and worked between 300 to 110 but could not get much going. Picked up 2 lakers and a LL that got off, nothing with any size. The fleas are here for sure, had to clean wire some but the big game 30 had no issues. Had another 17 lb and it was loaded up, time to re-string. [ Post made via iPhone ]
  16. Congrats to you and well done solo!!! That is an impressive size I'm in Myrtle beach but you had me on the lake with that post [ Post made via iPhone ]
  17. added pics of Sat, we need a bigger cooler to get curve out but they smoked up nice!! Hit it again sunday, basically same program and went around 15 for 20 with one nice salmon on the riggers. Put FF on riggers and they took a few but wire ruled again with our single copper taking some as well.
  18. Finally got out on Cayuga with my buddies boat and filled the cooler with some quality lakers. Best was a solid 32 inch almost 12 lber. Doubles, broke treble on another beast, and good action. Dipsy's rules with S/D and flys 250 to 300 out. Stayed in 300 foot most of day between LP and drake. Kept 6 to smoke and be back tomorrow [ Post made via iPhone ]
  19. Update: good news is they expect to release him on Friday. Lab detected 2 strains of Ecoli and now they are saying it was a sliver of treated lumber VS a fish bone. Maybe all the high water explains it all?? Thanks for all the responses...back to the fishing. [ Post made via iPhone ]
  20. While tubing this sunday on Cayuga my sons friend gave us the cut sign and was looking at his foot. He said it felt like somehtinig bit or stung him. There was a scratch and a small puncture wound on the top of his foot. About three hours later his foot was swollen and after we dropped him off home, he could not touch it and was running a fever. They found a fish bone broke off after cutting him open to see what was showing up on the X-ray. Now he's admitted with antibiotic IV but the infection is still spreading and they are running more tests. Anyone ever deal with something like this? We feel awful about it.
  21. Rain held off but fishing was slow, 1 for 2 on small LL. From what I heard sounded slow for others? Probably was a good thing nothing decent came my way since my net appears to be borrowed by someone. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  22. I know a guy who shares a Huniting camp in this area. He said this beast was chasing a hot doe with a nice 8 during last day of bow season, passed a good 10yrd shot on the 8, had the big guy at 30 yrds but not a clean shot then he ran off. Every day after that be was hunting his horns....cant blame him for that!!! I
  23. Snuck out one last time and fished Sheldrake. Just South of the point the little salmon n bows were hungry. In 100 to 200 fow I had 3 on at once twice using rigger w/cheater and dipsy. Kept a few legal Salmon. Think any color would have worked, seemed like a feeding freenzy but be prepaired for lots of dinks. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  24. Okay, only posting this as I would want to know if its in my back yard. Friend of mine was driving across the top of the hill on Bevier st Bing this week. He saw, stopped and watched a big cat. He's not a hunter, BSer. He's a big dude but his comment was I was scared sitting in the car. I am looking forward to the deer season as much as everyone and wish all good luck and be safe, but will be watching my back as I'm not more than 10 miles from that spot and we've had plenty of other reports over the last few yrs. We know what DEC says but they are Govmt. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  25. How lucky to pick a day off like today? Met my buddy, Boat in the water ready in Ithaca at 7am. We hit AES first and poped a quick laker, and a dink salmon. Slow after that and headed to the west side starting at rocky dock area. Great marks on the screen and we got onto our first triple but only landed one. Had good marks on the screen but it was a Cooper clinic the rest of the day. Had an occasional dipsey fire with same fly but the lone copper rig ruled. Fish were taken from 60 - 85 over 120 - 180. Made two runs turining around before sheldrake. We boxed 4 lakers and 2 salmon. Lost about the same which was another first. Even the sliders would pop with no one home, not sure what was the deal on that. Nothing big but a solid day with some Hot temps. We almost had to jump in the water when the wind let up a few times.
