  1. You still need to show that the bait was certified in some manor so the answer is no. You still need a reciept for any bait live or dead. If you bought it at wegmans make sure you have the packaging and reciept.

  2. Yah lots of smelt to be had just about anywhere along the lake. Early afternoon into dark you put a pantern by the hole and the water column form top to bottom will fill up with smelt. Most are 4-6". makes you wonder why any of the bigger fish ever need to eat. Nice Laker SY I can't wait to get down and jig'm up!

  3. Where ya from up north? You'll probably enjoy not having 24" or more of ice in February.to drill through. I fished quite a bit at Chateaugay, Franklin Falls, and around Plattsburgh while I was in college there.

I'm from Malone fished all of the above and then some. Like DH I basically fished exclusive for Gators in the North till moving here now I have spent the past few years learning almost every species this awesome areas has and still have tons to learn but that's the fun of it!

  4. 243 will get the job done obviously, but it is a light caliber for big game. The lack of blood probably didn't have a allot to do with the caliber. I shot a big boy Sunday morning with a TC omega 250gr shockwave and blew a hole through his lung and liver you could put your fist through and he walked 5-600 yards with absolutely not one drop of blood to the point where he stopped an  d piled up in a tree. Sometimes it happens but I would recommend a bigger caliber for deer.
