I would really like to make my first trip out to the West End this spring to fish for salmon. I've wanted to do it for years but not sure where to stay or what port to go out of. The farthest I have ever fished is Sodus Point. I have a 21 foot Crestliner Commander any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Do you run them tight to bottom

I have run gambler rigs on Cayuga Canandaigua Ontario and Erie and if I'm targeting Lakers it's all I use. They work! Last year got to try out the death traps gambler makes and they worked great too and they don't pull near as hard as cowbells. I don't have a favorite color just whatever is rigged up at the time lol. Can't go wrong with gambler rigs for lake trout.

Got these from bikini bottom today. A set of 16 Pounders and a set of 12 pounders . Paint jobs are awesome. Even comes with a custom-made box to keep them secure. I highly recommend them.

We put a Raymarine EV-200 on a Commander last Summer. If you're interested in Krenzer Marine doing the install I can get you a quote.

How do you all set up your rods . I have a med lite talora. It has 12 pound main to a small barrel swivel then 8 feet of 8 pound segar fluorocarbon leader to a small snap . Not sure on swivel and snap sizes .

If your willing to upgrade fishfinder I have the lowrance auto pilot linked through my hds 12 and 9 and can control the big motor and kicker at anytime with them and can run patterns and trails through the ff. It's a an awesome system and you dint need to link them so easier to move around

I want to put an autopilot on my 21 foot commander. It has a merc 150 main and a 9.9 pro kicker . I can link them together with a bar when trolling. I would prefer the autopilot to run the main motor. That would give me the ability to use it on both . I have a Lowrance Elite 9 TI I don't believe it has the ability to run an auto pilot.
