  1. Did you read the directions?

If you are referring to the directions for my Fishhawk. Then yes I did read the directions. It actually states that the double swivel is only rated for 12 lb. So when I called Fishhawk they recommend using snubber with anything that heavier. I am running 16 pound shark weights. Other than that I'm not sure what directions you are referring to

  2. Thanks to all again. So how does adding another swivel stop the issue of it going down too fast. It seems to me it's going down so fast with the short lead off the ball that the line then becomes parallel with the cable. I believe that is when my tangle is happening. I'm running Scotty snubbers and no Breakaway cable on the prob rigger . It is very annoying I never had this issue with my original mag 10s

  3. So I am using blacks releases. I have been downrigger fishing for 15 years. So I know how to attach to the release. In two of the last three trips my line has been twisted around the cable and would not ever realise if a fish hit . The only thing different is I have a new boat and have upgraded my downriggers to the high-speed STX mag tens. Is something happening when the downrigger ball goes down so fast. Or is it just a coincidence

I'm going to use my first ever copper rig this weekend. It's a three hundred footer and I'm going to get another one to match for the other side of the boat. I'm going to be running it off my big boards with some Scotty power Plus releases. Do I need to deploy the copper first before my Dipsy or can I run it right over top of my Dipsy. Thank you

  5. Regarding your tracks, were you able to access the underside of the gunwales to through bolt them or did you have to rivet them? How long are they? Sorry OP not trying to jack your thread.

The gunnels are boxed . I drilled through the top and bottom. Then I ran a long 3 inch bolt through both sides and used heavy fender washers with lock washers and nuts . The gunnels are exposed for rod storage

  6. I love my new 2050 commander. Super deep and nice toe kicks for leaning over the boat . Lots of storage and not one piece of plastic on the boat . The only piece of plastic is the wash down cover and housing. Everything is all welded Dash windshield glove compartment everything is all metal. Should last me the rest of my life20180929_143229.thumb.jpeg.89d75b3676d456c05e484973b1086954.jpeg20190407_121754.thumb.jpeg.c1c5830552179b450920073c483a32da.jpeg20180929_143430.thumb.jpeg.437fe992ba5b7a906bfeb509079c9532.jpeg20180929_143332.thumb.jpeg.a57ba6ed6cdb07a3867a9600006e656c.jpeg20180929_135835.thumb.jpeg.a0e7a73457ff64534b13b1d96cf75033.jpeg20180929_143307.thumb.jpeg.9951f5622a6f7cc95218fa0095e659d9.jpeg20180901_110911.thumb.jpeg.ad78e2f5462dc5db3664ac1f730d30bc.jpeg

  7.

Finally got the new Crestliner commander on the water and fishing. Everything worked great and I'm very happy with the boat. Fishing was a little slow and please beware there is floating debris everywhere and a big log about 6 in under the surface on the West Shore. Anyone going out on Cayuga be super careful. Water is ice cold 54 on the top and 44 30-foot foot down.30405.thumb.jpeg.2c96477684c484bc88df49aac1da0131.jpeg20190526_095203.thumb.jpeg.2b47069fe201509109eda5e56c0618e5.jpeg20190526_095213.thumb.jpeg.253bc7ad9904eee0634a0409f69fdfcc.jpeg20180929_143213.thumb.jpeg.d73c956512ddeb9431aeb58bdf7b5c46.jpeg20180929_143307.thumb.jpeg.fc264e693c39f5b83bdde22b3af79517.jpeg

  8. I have noticed on some of my Spin Doctors and pro troll flashers the tape has shrunk and peeled. Some of the tape has shrunk to half the size it was before. It happened on both brands. I got some new ones and don't want it to happen again. Granted some of these flashers were 10 years old. And I have not been on the water in a few years before I noticed it. How do you guys store your flashers. I have to believe it is something that I did so I don't do it again
