  1. Guys guys guys The comments I made in my opinion were harmless there is no way I thought it would get to this level and I apologize if anyone was offended or I would never have posted it. I religiously post our results and will continue to because it creates friendships. As noted by our pics we wanted to share our success with others. We did PM specifics to several members on this site. The meaning of the post was not to go underground but share more specifics of the trip like more specific locations etc that you share with fellow fishermen who do the same. If you review my posts and Marks as well as Jeffs you'll find we post more frequent than most. Please put this nonsense to bed there are other productive things to share! I'm in Florida. Mark called me to tell the post was getting out of hand so I felt compelled to respond!

  2. I agree with Jason, the only reason I fish Seneca is because of the information posted on this website. In fairness to all it's only proper to share this info. There are plenty of fish and regardless how much info you have whether it's Cayuga or Seneca you have to pay your dues. So with sharing your success and passing information all benefit and most important you get to meet some great people and develop lasting friendships!

  3. Keep in mind that both lakes are put & take lakes, what the DEC does previosly with their stocking program has a impact on the quality of the fishing! Whichever laker you have confidence in should be your choice. I like Seneca in the winter & Cayuga in the summer!

  4. We had the same plan....Seneca was froze so we launched at T-Falls later than I care to. I wish I could boast but I can't, we didn't boat a fish, lost one on wire and one on lead. The conditions sucked and that with a couple of tangles made it the slowest day that I've had for a long time. Can't have it great all the time! :(:( The weatherman blew it yesterday. It's going to take a few warm days for the launches at Watkins to thaw out. We pulled out at It's going to be a few 11:30.

  5. Raymarine has been delivering the new model, it's the X5 R. My X5 failed and they are now in the process of correcting the defective ones as soon as those customers units are replace they should be stocking the retail stores. I just installed the new drive and used it today 2/16 it seem quieter & smoother than the old one. This one is redesigned

  6. Check out this LL, fished with Mower. This was the only big boy that cooperated he was around 11 Lbs., we dumped one that seemed large. It was a miracle that we landed him., he came off the surface and wrapped around the wire disey without cutting the mono.. We boated close to 10 in the 17" class which we released. It was the slowest day this year, it was pretty much a boat ride most of the day. The bite was early again shutting down about 9.

  7. Actually both lakes are producing. I've only been on Seneca once, the quality was there, however Cayuga has been prodcing big numbers. Be ready to fish the entire water column, the numbers came off the top and the big boys came from 80 to 99':rofl: . 99' is a private joke!

PM me if you want more specifics!

  8. Actually the larger fish came off an E-Chip & FLY with 10 colors however we switched to spoons after we limited on LLs trying to locate Browns without much success. What the ball busting is about is that I started running core last summer and I made mistakes that a newbie makes such as too long a leader and Mark kept busting my chops about how nonproductive leadcore fishing is so now it's payback time. Most of the fish came off wire & riggers. As for the 100' Mark, Jeff, & I were in my boat and we were fishing high without much success, Jeff was whining that we need to go deep so we gave in and as soon as he dropped down to 100' his rigger fired off........we still haven't heard the end of it!

  9. The best bite was early, we kept 6 LLs we didn't weigh them but the ones pictured were somewhere in the 8 Lb. class or more the largest measuring 26". The big boys came deep from 50' to 90' (note I didn't say 100') :D Jeff. Several fish were in the 17' class which we released. The quanity wasn't there but the quality was, we boated 16 or so fish 1 laker & 1 brown the rest LLs. One large one came on top off the boards and the largest came off leadcore (yes I said leadcore) the rest came off the riggers and wire, green green green spin doctors and flys. For the skeptics who do not believe in lead (LiL Jake):rofl::rofl: check it out. We limited out on LLs by 9:30 so I suggest it you're venturing out do it early it got pretty slow by 9:00.

  10. You know the old saying...................never leave fish to find fish, well that's what we did and got outfished by Lil Jake and didn't find fish. Has anyone fished the flats outside Tremain this winter. The only thing we didn't try was the 30' to 40' water up on the flats!
