  1. I'm a Lund guy, had Alumacraft, & Crestliner. looked seriously at the sport angler but settled on the Tyee Magnum. The sport craft has more room for finshing because all the compartments are open without doors but I settled on the Tyee because of how I wanted to mount the downriggers.

However, if my ship came in I would I would get the Tyee 2075 what a sweet ride, the Baron is a bit bigger but I don't like the fish/sport model for fishing.

As for price! Trying sitting down first.

  2. Just spent the week there........The whole lake is hot. We ran jointed perch and limited out every day within 2 hours we had from 3 to 5 fishing each day. Everything seemed to work, lead core, riggers, and weighted lines. This is the best that I've seen this lake!!

  3. Congrads Rollie.............haven't been on Cayuga in quite a while because of the eel problem. Today we did shorts LLs & bows and several 6 to 8 pound lakers. The good news was that all the fish were clean without scars and it was pleasant to fish without fleas & dodging and weed mats........................I know it won't last but it was fun.

    Awesome LL congrads again!

  4. I have a 2008 20' Tyee with big Jon riggers. I had 5" X 5" steel plates fabricated at a local metal shop and mounted them under the gunnel I believe the design as not changed. I use the forward riggers tipped up to use for planer boards (Otter boards) without any flex however I only run 10 lb weights when used as a downrigger.

  5. With what I've read the DEC will resolve the lamphrey issue in time. I try not to target Lakers unless I have to to catch fish, with that said I'm hoping the silver fishery on Cayuga will get better. So from what I read on this post the fish with scars are from Lamphreys that have dropped off to spawn? Is this what I'm hearing?

  6. I'm not a fan of running both motors off the same battery, my background is in the electric industry. All alternators do not charge the same so I never run both at once. My kicker & electronics are off one, while the main motor is off another so there isn't a conflict, I do have a perko switch between them that I can close if I have battery trouble and alternate between batteries. I know some disagree but the investment is big so I play it safe.

  8. They worked hard for me. I had trouble with a 175 Opti however the dealer cannot do anymore than the manufacturer will allow under warranty. The issue was under warranty so their hands were tied the problem got resolved after the factory rep got involved. I'm sticking with a local dealer, I simply to not care to haul my rig for hours to fix unless it's absolutely necessary!

  9. A buddy's whose in-laws live in Skaneatles sent it. I've heard old timers say that Cayuga has froze over by T-Falls..........but I find it hard to believe there's been too many winters colder than this.

I'm an avid winter fisherman and I've been twice this yeat!
