  1. Yesterday I was running a FF off the probe rigger and it resulted in two fish but also some wicked line twist. This was running 30lb blood run sea flee. Had line tied directly to spin doc swivel. Anything to reduce the twist? Ended up taking it off after a while, removing tackle, let out 300 feet of line to let it untwist, and re-rigging.

  2. Fished solo yesterday morning from 615-1100. Took 2 small kings and one around 18-19 pounds in 70-85 fow. 2 on ff including the big fish and one on a SSW. Tried getting a brown bite going later in the morning as the bite died about 830 but nothing materialized. Been a strange year for browns for me anyways. This time of year is usually pretty consistent for me to boat 1/2 dozen or so but having a hard time finding them. Maybe I'm to deep. Best temp has been around 50-65 feet.

  3. Headed down tomorrow for my first time ever fishing eyes on Erie. Any help would be appreciated. Plan to launch out of Dunkirk

Sent from my SCH-I545 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Maybe read the last couple pages of posts? Pretty good info on depth, speed, lures.
  4. 1. Absolutely. Staple for me on Lake Erie. I troll harnesses 95% of the time.

    2. You can fish off all the above. I love bottom bouncing with my electric but also fish off lead core, dipseys, jets, and riggers.

    3. I use boards when fishing suspended eyes in open water.

    4. Colorado, Indiana, willows, and hatchet. Every dog has his day. Mix of different sizes and colors depending on conditions. Colorado are better at slower speeds and willows when you turn it up a notch. Sometimes small blades, sometimes bigger blades with more thump.

Colorado typically .9-1.5. Willows for 1.6 to 2.2 or so.

Not sure what body of water your on. This is just what works on Erie for me.
