  1. It was definitely a tough day. We fished from 100 to 30 with all of it being a terrible screen. We went 7-10 with most fish coming on the cores over 30-50 fow. We got lucky and finally found a few active fish late morning with a mixed bag of Lakers, rainbows and landlocks. Just glad we were able to get o e registered in the 333. Great day on the water regardless! Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  4. Ok thanks we just wanted to be able to choose which boat to use on a given day. Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. Nick do we have to fish the same boat for each day?...myself and teammates each have a fishing boat and depending on what lake we are fishing at that time may depend on which boat we would like to use. Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. He is a rod ninja!! If I recall I actually was standing next to a rod that released and he came from the front seat to beat me to it...I thought I was going over board!!
  7. Called blueghost to join me for a last minute trip since the boat has been parked on the lake since the derby due to fishing the big pond with FLX Troller the past month and a half. Left dock around 5:30 and headed to the north end east side. Set up gear running 4 riggers and 2 dipsey in 90 fow. Moved in to 80 fow and screen light up. First fish on 150 dipsey pulling mountain dew spinny with a white chartreuse fly. Second fish came on same set up and then doubled with 88 rigger with green dot seneca ghost. Crossed over at the dragon wall with nada. Turned back around and hit same way points picking up a few more lakers on the 88 and 80 rigger. Picked up a small rainbow on the 55 rigger pulling a fl uv sea sick waddler. Also missed one that slammed the 25 foot rigger pulling a gold orange honey bee. Found the hook severely bent when checked lure. Worked that area till things just shut down at 8:30. Lots of good marks up there with lots of streakers just couldn't get them to go. Headed south on east side and marked a ton of fish and bait south of Pelican point marina but no takers. Ended morning 7 for 10. Very good quality lakers today 6-11lbs.
  8. Les, that lake is the hardest to fish for me...the fish are there one day and gone the next. My day was a once in a lifetime day but the browns are always down there this time of year. The bait on Saturday was down by white rock and in 150 fow but no fish around the bait. We moved north out of the bait and finally found active fish. Very tough lake to fish.
  9. Letsfish2day...I actually did catch a 12lber there in the Avon anglers derby 3 years ago which is now the fixit4u derby. They are there, far and few between but we also caught some nice 8-9lbers also during that derby.
  10. I believe the 1 rod rule is for the bass tournaments. I think it'll be the last time I fish his tournament. Well maybe I'll go down to Keuka next weekend and beat them with another 12lb laker out of there!!
  11. Oh yea, she getting added to the collection!!
  12. Fish in what I thought was a trout tournament today but rest of story to come. Started with a brown program and one of my favorite spots and didn't take long and after a great battle landed my biggest brown ever followed by the second biggest and ended with a small 12lber. Biggest was 16 second over 13. Fish were 75-90 down over 80 to 100 fow. After a tip that it was a lake trout only derby we switch to lakers and couldn't get anything over 7lb. They were hugging bottom and just not on the feed. All in all a great first trip of the year.
  13. Fish in what I thought was a trout tournament today but rest of story to come. Started with a brown program and one of my favorite spots and didn't take long and after a great battle landed my biggest brown ever followed by the second biggest and ended with a small 12lber. Biggest was 16 and second was almost 14. Fish were 75-90 down over 80 to 100 fow. After a tip that it was a lake trout only derby we switch to lakers and couldn't get anything over 7lb. They were hugging bottom and just not on the feed. Guess i should of read the rules but laker only is weird. All in all a great first trip of the year.
  14. Congrats Pete and great story. I was surprised to see you again but after that story I'm sure we'll see you at the launch more often. We ended up running deep and after about 2 hours with no releases we were second guessing our 30 minute motor but we found the steel head and kings. We quit around 11 and ended with 4 kings and 7 rainbows. Good luck out there!!
  15. Mottman32, was out Monday night and Trolled from just north of Wegman's house to German brothers, crossed the lake and went south to deep run. 2 small rainbows on rigger at 65. Did not mark much, fished from 80'- 150 fow. Fish were stacked on on point north of wegmans. Should of worked that point.
  16. I saw a guy unloading his boat by himself yesterday morning so asked if he needed any help, low and behold it was Pete! Good job Pete and nice to see you again!
  17. Had a buddy who wanted some fish for the smoker and another buddy who I like to call "3 rods" came along too. Left the dock near Pelicans and headed north where I was having luck the previous day. And as Lady Canandaigua always does, she changed and fish were gone and no bait where it was yesterday. Great, now pressure is really on! We slid out a little deeper about 90-110 fow, started making fish right on the bottom, so started bumping bottom with down riggers. Just got north of Deep run and first fish hits the 225 dipsey with innovator sd and green atomic fly, then the 90' rigger fires with white/mtn dew sd and Seneca Ghost fly, then 300' copper with FL custom 42nd spoon and it was continuous action until 7:45, When buddy says hey what time is it, like 9:30, cause we already have 8 in box for the fish fry plus the 5 or 6 we lost. Nope its 7:45! Got to dragon wall and turned towards pump house with a good screen. dropped down an innovator paddle with filthy frankie fly at 65' and then that turned into the hot set. Tried to get a bow on the 7'6 eagle claw rods on the shallow riggers for my buddies, threw a lot a different spoons at them but just couldnt get those fish in the top 40 to bite. also ran a 5 color and 100' copper that never fired until we got back to Pelicans were we planned to stop, and then 100' cooper took off 3 lb bow, left rod in the boat, then the 5 color took off with another 3 lb bow, left it in the boat , 24' rigger fires with small bow, finally, left it in the boat, then 65 rigger takes off with small laker. No better way to quit then to have the fish help in pulling rods!! I think if we would of stayed another hour we really could of beat up the bows. Still tons of bait and fish in the 80-110 fow. surface temp was 73 in the morning and 76 when we left at 10:30. this might be the final trip on fingers as Lady O is asking me to find the Kings!!
  18. I'm lucky, my grandfather has a house on the lake. Unfortunately it's for sale though:(
  19. Left the dock at 5:30 on a spur of the moment trip. Trolled south from pelicans just past next point. Good screen with big arcs at the 25' range in 70 fow and lots of bait. First fish on the rigger parked at 22 with a black and white honeybee, nice brown who released himself about 20 behind boat. Next was a 2 lb rainbow on the 100 copper with FL chicken feed. Made the turn and headed north, went shallower to 50', more bait and less fish on screen, no takers. Switched over to a deeper setup with 300 Copper with a green/chart black dot R&R rocker, 225 dipsey with an innovator sd with a atomic green fly, and a rainbow colored honeybee on the rigger at 44' over 90'-110' fow just north of pelicans. Doubled up on the rigger with 4-5 lb laker and the 300' copper same size fish. From the to the dragon wall it was a steady pick of lakers. Turned and headed south again raised the rigger to 24' and picked up the biggest laker of the day at 9lb. Fished till 11 and called it quits. Beware of the googans!!
