Limit 4 on a sportsman, not 1 more than 63cm. So anything under 24,8" is legal.

Right on !! The sonar (distance finder ) is showing your weight distance from the transducer it will only show the true depth of your weight if you are stopped and the cable is straight down. Any angle on the cable will lessen the depth of the weight , but it will still show the actual distance from the ducer , not the true depth it’s running. A fish 🐟 will show actual depth because you are passing over it ( arches) If it was attached to the boat , the same rule would apply the distance would be shown not the actual depth
A fish hawk is an eye opener. It takes all the guess work out of the equation
What if the fish is near the ball? How deep is it?

Do you know what length you need?
I have model # EZ-10002 for sale which is the standard length rod. This is the rod only, not including motor brackets
I use it for outboard to outboard connection (Main to Kicker)
https://shop.cmpgroup.net/products/ez10002
Thanks. I need the ultra length and brackets. Having trouble getting through to them.

A clamp-on dc amp meter has paid for itself several times over answering questions like this and finding devices drawing current that I did not know about. Make sure you get one that can measure dc current (not all do) and has ranges for the currents you want to measure.
Bingo! Short and sweet.
