I started using my Fav FLA inshore setup for Pike & Bass at my Fav ADK lake & it is my goto. A 7 med spin w/ 10lb braid & 20 lb floro leader. I tie Shakey heads 1/16 -1/4 w/ a rapala knot & use 3-5" senkos .I love it. Also havent been bit off on it & landed northernts to 16 lbs on it. Could use lighter floro if you wanted . Use rev Albright for braid to floro. I use the moss color braid & it is hard to see BUT you feel everything. My neph in FLA Ties jigs direct to pro & it works also .Also like it for deeper water jigging for hookset & feel.In Niagara current I would think it to be the ticket.

The" Challange " and the Hero one day & zero the next was about as well put as can be Capt Vince . It IS the reason I fish.

The fishing equation is 3 parts to me.

Part 1 is the preparation mode . Some do this better than others.

Part 2 is the Execution & Adjustment of the the game plan to trigger a strike .This is where the rubber meets the road . Some guys & the best fisherman ( such as yourself) do this the best, and when they do:

Part 3 is the playing & landing the fish ,which is a reward for doing parts 1 & especially 2 right.

Your clients pay you( and they are smart to pick you) for parts 1 & 2 Capt Vince ,so they can have part 3.

If there were no "zero" days, the "hero " days wouldn't be as much fun,now would they.

Fresh back from up north. Was going to come home today anyway but there was a total evacuation of my & other campsites up there & High peaks region because of Irene. Landed some nice fish. 2 pike over 12 lbs & a smallmouth 21" .

Shakey head senkos were best w/ the 5 gold / black mepps a close second. Allways come back w/ a better outlook on life & realize the material things I don't need.Back up in 2 weeks w/ the boys. Can't wait.

might have a little to do with the 11 percent decrease in turnout. Cause from what I have experienced & read , the fishing is maybe as good as it has ever been .

A " Token" saltwater fee ? Not 29 bucks like mine? DEC needs money and the Gov cuts them short.But Saltwater is downstate who elected him . Politics as usual .

Just saw a like new sweet one on Craigslist in Brockport for 500. Maybe you could grind him down a bit & get a deal.

I have had fish with 2 spoons in their mouths also . I allways thought that the fish hit and swam by the other rig , the line grabed the hook, it slid down to the fishes mouth & hooked itself when poping the other rod out of the release.

Just because the fuses don't blow as fast does not mean the problem is fixed. Not enough juice to the units could do damage to the motors.

If you have fished for any amount of time ,consider yourself lucky if you haven't hooked youself. A long needle inserted in the same hole to push flesh away from the barb has worked for me. I prefer Old Grandad for the anestetic.

How long you owned the Boat? Any problems before this? Last time it was tuned up ? 21 pitch on a boat that size seems a little steep. My 21' 305 has a 15" pitch. I switched from a 17 pitch ,which was about the limit I thought.

I had the graphite rod I was reeling the fish in on give me static shocks thru my hand in a bad rainstorm once, but there was no thunder or lightning. It was strange to say the least. I put that rod away & used my glass ones & kept fishing.

Try Lake Placid in ADK mts. Aprox 3 hrs from Henderson harbor. Lots to do there & shopping for the bride.

Got out at dawn AM for a few Hrs. Coudn't get a hit for the longest time on my go to stuff.Remember this time of year when younger that Sofshells were the way to go. Switched to a Yama Hula Grub on a 1/16 oz head & that's what they wanted. Managed 6 to 16" and dropped a few more.Largemouths mostly.

Getting kind off sick and tired or the " Well if you were in trouble ,& they wern't there, you would be comlaining " or " they are just doing ther job" excuse for justifying bad behavior. I don't like Big Brother watching my every move on the outside chance "somthing " might happen.

Question! For all we have invested & effort spent on boarder patrol,& TSA, are we really any safer? After some of the blunders reported in the airports & such, I wonder.

Just got back from a great time in the Mtns. Fishin was good , not great. Boated about 20 northerns up to about 9 lbs and about 25 bass up to about 19" biggest. Same old stuff worked. best being Blk senkos 4-5" rigged on 1/16 - 1/4 oz shakey style. # 5 mepps gld w blk buctail was best spinner w/ a few on a gold blk orange rattle trap & I made a point to try different things this trip. Saw the Bald eagle once . Found a few more lakes I would like to try up there someday,as I have the one I go to pretty much figured out. I urge you guys to make a trip up there if you haven't , especially if you have young ones. Lots to do & not expensive if you camp.

Ah yes, off in the AM to the ADKs & my happy spot. Looking forward to casting Spinners & Jigging for Pike & Smallies. Real fishing .Hope to see my buddy the Bald Eagle .The Call of the loon as I lay in my tent at night keeps me longing to get back. Can't wait!

I don't think it's them with a big head. I think it is that we were so strong for so long before now that it's payback time. Our dollar was worth almost 50 % more than theirs for a long time. A lot of the world loves the fact we have fallen on some hard times . The strong US economy bought a lot of influence over the years.Those days are over. We are broke & everyone knows it. China's in the drivers seat now. Look for a bigger Chinnese presence in Canada buisness wise in the future. This whole boarder thing is a way of telling us that they don't need us anymore. It is an asertion of power.

Canada has turned into a socialist country anyway. This weekend especialy , we need to remember what & who we are as a country.
