Here's a good one I had to share. Yesterday I was a little short handed with my guys. so I only put one old hound out(Buck). After a while he went down into a creek bottom and jumped a yote , now he's driving him rite at me hard and I look out of the corner of my eye and here comes a snowmobile at me so I know the yote is close now as Buck is only 75yds out so I raised my gun and the guy stopped the machine only to see the whole thing come down rite in front of him as the yote scootes across a small field. After a week and a half and 3 trips to the veterans office I finally got my lead hound back on the ground again . He had a nasty infection from a yote bite in the face and couldn't see out of one eye. Whoo nice job!! We ran one over by ur lease today for 3hrs plus shot at 13 times and dinged once ran him till it got too late in the afternoon and pulled hounds off. I Also another 2hour run earler in the morning took us from the lake to almost rt. 104. Kilt two others this weekend. This pic is of a wolf skull and the yote I took the other day. Check out the difference. The wolf came from Alaska, my Buddy well know moose guide that I hunted with and trapper from Fairbanks widow gave it to me after his passing. Still has a way to get that big but not that far off. Took this brute of a yote this morning after a 2 hour steady run with the hounds and only one short loss only to let us old guys time to reposition for the kill. He tipped my buddy's farm scales at just shy of 50lbs. This guy we ran the week before and he lead the hounds out into the ice in the big O on my GPS at 550yards off shore. Not a fun thing to watch from the parkway. I took him with number 4buck shot along a thicket edge and the hounds only 20 yards behind. What a thrill!
