  1. Glad to know there's atleast a few decent people left in this world. Glad you got your rods and reels back and good on ya' for helping those guys out of a heap of trouble. Karma, karma, karma. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  2. I don't personally think it makes a difference, but, some may argue. It seems that the split rings add another 'pivot' point and allows the spoons to flutter a bit more because you're not restricted by the size of the swivel. The spoon's pivoting around this little circular ring instead of this large, rectangular swivel. I don't know. If it doesn't come with one, I don't bother putting one on. It's not a big deal to me.. 3. It looks like they're CE Smiths. They're very high quality rod holders. You definately can't go wrong with them. http://www.walleyetacklestore.com/29080.html
  4. A fellow Canuck! Welcome to LOU. You'll find everything you need here. Sit back, relax and ask tons of questions. Great to have you aboard! Oh, you can't go wrong with Garmin. I've got a 530 series and wouldn't change for anything. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  5. Go with Interstate, you won't go wrong. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  6. I do like some of the names that've been suggested so far. I am familiar with most of the boats that fish out of the marina I dock at, and none of the names seem too familiar. I'm into fishing (duuuuhhh ), aviation, engines.. man stuff. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  7. Haha, I like that! [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  8. Yeah I saw that. Was just wondering if you guys had any other ideas. Thanks for the responses. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  9. Before I put the boat in the water this season, I'd like to get a new name lettered on the side. Before I do that, I want to come up with the most fitting name. The boat is a 21' walkaround, and some of the names I've liked so far are: Happy Hooker** Master Baiter Chummer Debaitable Canadian Bacon** Reel Magic Fog Ducker Wet Dream Unsinkable II**Â If you've guys have got any other, humerous ideas throw them this way [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  10. Canon all the way. I own a pair of electric Mag 10HS' and would never think about something else. The smoothest running, most efficient, quietest downriggers I've ever had. Can't complain about the warranty either. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  11. Name: Austin Williams Location: Strathroy, ON Home Port: Erieau, ON Boat Name/Type: Happy Hooker - 1997 Sunbird Neptune 201 I fish for: Walleye, Salmon & Trout. ================== Hey all, just thought I'd drop a quick line to introduce myself and say hello. I stumbled across this website while searching for fishing forums, signed up and here I find myself. Though not an Lake Ontario fisherman, I am an avid Lake Erie fisherman. This seemed to be the only good looking, professional atmosphere forum around, so I decided to join up. Looks like you've got a wonderful community here and I look forward to many more conversations with all of you. Awaiting the end of winter... Austin
