  1. Hey all, I've recently come across a great deal on a 27' foot Center Console Robalo and was pondering the idea of purchasing. My current boat is a 19' foot walkaround style and I was curious to know your opinions on CC's. My current boat has a full enclosure which will keep you out of the elements, not to mention a cuddy that will easily sleep two. The boat I'm currently looking at has tons of storage, a T-Top with tons of rod storage, and way better electronics. But, I'm afraid the Center Console style boat will leave me too exposed to the elements the lake may kick up. Does anyone have a Center Console style boat that would happily share their opinions on the way they ride, how they handle and how comfortable they are? Cheers.
  2. Okay, maybe I will put a little more consideration into Atlantic Towers then. Don't get me wrong, I have heard wonderful things about them. I'm just not so sure having it shipped from their factory to Ontario, Canada will be the best idea price wise.
  3. Hey, Been looking to put a new fishing/radar arch on my 20 foot walkaround Sunbird. Been looking around to see what the best company to purchase from was (Atlantic towers, GLP) and was just looking for opinions on what you think is best. I've been drooling over the Atlantic Towers 'Tower in a Box' but the price seems a little steep. I've also entertained the idea of a local welding shop making one for me out of aluminum/stainless. Can anyone vouch for a specific model? I'm looking for about 6-10 rocket launcher tubes, and possibly some halogen lights. Opinions? Cheers, Austin.
  4. I've got the Garmin GPSmap 541S. It's a chartplotter/sounder package that allows either split screen or individual view. It may not be in your price range but you should definitely consider Garmin. They're a hidden gem. And they have tons of products for all price ranges. Easy to install and use too. 5. I'd say you've got a pretty valid reason to be ticked. Sounds like horrible customer service to me. Cheers.
  6. My best wishes are with the family. He sounded like an incredible person & a legend to the local fishing community.
  7. We were finally able to take our shakedown cruise today, and got a few hours of fishing in, needless to say we were skunked. Enough on that - has anyone else noticed the enormous amount of dead smelt floating around? We're fishing off Lake Erie and never in my life have I noticed so many dead floaters, I've witnessed a few here and there during the runs, but nothing like this. What's up with that? Are you Ontario guys noticing the same?
  8. Hey all, Heading out this weekend and this'll be the first time using dipsy divers. What type of knot do you guys use to tie the leader to the swivel? Cheers, Austin.
  9. Well, I was hoping to finally get the boat in the water this weekend. Looks like that isn't going to happen. Marine weather calling for waves up to 15 feet, winds in excess of 50 knots and severe thunderstorms. A good gale warning in effect also. May even get some snow. Not the weather I was hoping for, but what can you do. It seems the only good weather is during the week. Looks like I'll be working on the boat this weekend.. Austin.
  10. Can't believe this hasn't sold yet. This looks like an amazing deal!
  11. Will do, thanks guys. Cheers! Austin. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  12. I really don't see what the huge deal with the three rod rule is. It doesn't matter how many lines you have in the water, the limit of fish per person is still the same. Cheers, Austin.
  13. wow, i think the person who wrote this garbage needs a stern kick in the teeth.
  14. Not entirely familiar with dual tanks. However taking out the sender is a simple process, maybe someone with more knowledge will chime in. Cheers, Austin.
  15. I just finished having to do this to mine yesterday. Had to open up the panel in the deck where the fuel tank is and unbolt the sender, had to take out the float and unstick it so it would move again. What do you need to do exactly?
  16. Thanks Musky, but I was referring more to the decals you'd see on the side of many charter boats. The decals that say 'Team Cannon, or Shimano' etc.
  17. Hey everyone, Does anyone know where I can get my hands on some fishing company boat decals? I'd like to put some on the side of my boat, but have no idea where people are getting them. I've looked on companies' websites, but none seem to offer any. Do you get them printed? Or is there somewhere I can get them? Cheers! Austin.
  18. Awesome, sharp and educational video. Thanks for sharing!
  19. Here's the official Transport Canada list: http://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/marinesafety/de ... nu-690.htm Be sure to click the appropriate link according to your boat length. Cheers! Austin.
  20. I don't believe you need anything but a fishing license (if that). Cheers, Austin.
  21. I'd go with the Big Jons, I just ordered two myself. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  22. Nice boat! If I only I found as good a boat when searching.
  23. Does anyon here bother to make their own planer board releases? The local tackle shop here wants close to $5.00 a piece for one release. I figured I could make more then one for the same price. I've seen articles on the internet which reccomend using shower curtain rings and clothespins, but I'm not convinced those will clamp hard enough. Any ideas? Cheers! Austin.
  24. I just received my new 27LCW's 10 minutes ago, unwrapped them and they are awesome!! I would definitely recommend these to any walleye fisherman. I can't wait to get my rods and try them out! Cheers!
