Congrats on what is probably a walleye of a life time. I have been fishing more than 40 years and have barely come within 4 inches of that fish.
More power to you for letting it go. I certainly would not have been able to. You have the picture though and the satisfaction of knowing that it is still out
there swimming!

Did they guestimate it from measurements or put it on a scale?
-
Anyone use them to video? What do you use? I would like to mount it to windshield? Anyone do that?
Thanks for any help. You guys have always been a wealth of information!
Frank
Sorry I clicked button twice making too posts. I did not think it went

Just trying to help you out. If winds are over 10 mph it is a rough ride on that water. I dont waste my gas

Awesome fish!

I know that the "fence" is the U.S. - Canadian border. How do you determine where it is using a GPS? You certainly did well fishing out of the SBH. I have always been fearful of being caught fishing in Canadian waters without a Canadian license.
Thanks,
Steelema
Best way to tell is have a smartphone with google map on it. ask where am I, and it will pull up map showing your location in relationship to the border. Otherwise just stay south of the boats and you wont have any problem.

Jeff Frisby, near Batavia, does awesome work, and will not break your bank, either. Be right back with his taxidermy studio name. Okay, it is Wild Encounters Taxidermy. Look him up on Facebook. I had him mount a 30 pound salmon for me, but I saw an awesome walleye he was just finishing up when I picked up my fish. Good luck, those are some nice marble eyes!!
Thanks will check with him.

Real nice fish! Congrats!

Otisco looks just like the south end of Honeoye

nice ones. Fun to catch that way

Justin dont let one hater sour your day. There are people that want to help others catch fish ( like you) and greedy
people who want to keep all the fish for themselves( no need to mention names). Keep on doing what you are doing
*Everyone* except the haters appreciates all your efforts to make us better fisherman. Thanks again!

Congrats on a good day! Have fished there a couple times and I know it is hard to catch them that size there.
That is why you were in the money.

Anybody have an extra that they want to get rid of. I want to set up another reel for lead core.
Thanks

Field and Stream reminds me a lot of Gander Mt when they first came out. Gander has since sold all of those cool mounts and it looks more like a Dick's and so would Field and Stream with out those mounts. I have not been to Cheektowaga but anytime I am close to Hamburg, PA I make that stop. It is like my version of a theme park. Indoor trout stream and rooms dedicated to items that are not for sale but for show. Simply awesome. Cabelas has an indoor trout stream... and a mountain... and a tank larger than most personal yard ponds. My family like going to it because they can shop and eat and look at the animals and fish and they leave me alone to do look at man things. I have to pick whether I want to do hunting or fishing because I usually only have 2-3 hrs and that is not enough to do both. My parents use to spend a night in a hotel and shop there the next day when it opened before they drove home so they could spend more time there.
This is a must see if you have not been. I guess my point is that if F&S is impressive to you than you need to make this trip to a Cabelas. I am extremely hopeful that the hype surrounding Bass Pro in Victor is real. I won't get too excited but will definitely check it out since it will be on a normal travel path for me.
I hear ya about Cabela's. I was fortunate enough to stop in at Cabelas in Kearney Nebraska while on my way to a hunt out west once. It was amazing. Rows I mean rows of trophy mounts of every species. Bucks that look to be once in a life time. Muleys, white tails, all kinds of sheep. Really impressive mount of a big six point elk with a mountain lion on its
back. Stringers of huge walleye. I would pay admission to go there.

Ditto what Raaven said. I am sure he is a muskie guide up there. If you really want a St Lawrence
muskie get a guide, they will get you hooked up and you can cross that off your bucket list.

Store in Rochester has fantastic mounts. Blows away Ganders Mt. Huge bucks , elk, muleys and decent fish mounts
just awesome. If you havent been, go check it out. You will not be disappointed. Plus they have great inventory and
prices are competitive. I picked up some renoskys.

We just had a new field and stream open up. I will check them out.

Been going up there once a week if weather permits, It has not turned on yet. Got two last week. Had to work
6 hours to get them. One in 62 and couple hours later one in 69. Like Bailey said. Go west for now

That is the longest pike I ever saw
Crossbows
in Big / Small Game
Posted
Did DEC flip flop or what happened? The first regs came out and said crossbows would only be allowed during regular gun season
and muzzleloader in the Southern zone. I check out the DEC site for hunting seasons today and it said crossbow season is Nov 1 til
start of gun season like last year. Anyone know the real story?
Thanks
