  1. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):9/19 Time on Water:6:30 - 11:30 Weather/Temp:cloudy then sunny Wind Speed/Direction:light Waves: 1-3's early then settling down Surface Temp: 64.6 Location: braddocks to river LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 0 Total Boated:0 Species Breakdown:0 Hot Lure: Trolling Speed: 2.0 - 3.0 Down Speed: Boat Depth: 25-60 Lure Depth: ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Put in Saturday but had a dead battery, so after buying a new battery tried again Sunday. Started trolling from Braddocks at 6:30 am and only saw one boat out in 40' so we trolled towards the river. As we headed that way we saw many boats heading west and out deep. Was surprised that 2 boats decided to fly right by us so close, pretty rude after having the entire lake. Tried 25' in front of Russell station and the river. Was not too many boats out. Some in close and some out deeper. Tried out in 60' and back to 25' before we had to call it a day. Sun decided to come out and turned into a beautiful day but I had to go referee some hockey. Anyone having any luck around braddocks/river? I enjoy spending time with my dad but I am really trying hard to get him into fish like he used to do for me. Keep thinking I am doing something wrong, but I don't hear many people posting great success either. Marked fish and bait all over but no luck. Thanks and good luck.
  2. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):9-11 Time on Water:6:30-12:00 Weather/Temp: Sunny 60's-70 Wind Speed/Direction: Waves: 1-2 Surface Temp: 69-70 Location:Braddocks to river LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits:1 Total Boated:0 Species Breakdown: Hot Lure: Trolling Speed: 2.4-2.8 Boat speed Down Speed: Boat Depth: 40-100 Lure Depth: 20-40 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Finally got to take my dad out after I had to rebuild the lower unit. Trolled from Braddocks east towards the river. Lost a small one around 8:30 on a Mt/dew SD with green crinkle atomic fly. 30' down in 50' water. My dad lost it at the boat. Hit came just west of Russell Station. Had one release on watermelon NK, but no one was home, right in front of river. Marked some bait and fish but no luck. Boats seemed to be out deep and in close around the river. I was lost on where to go, so I stayed around 60'-90' around river. Headed back towards Russell Station and called it a day around noon. I tried a 4 pole set up with stacked riggers. SD/atomic, NK's, DW SS, and J-plugs. I still have a lot to learn, but didn't see any other boats netting any. Was a beautiful day to be out and spend time with my dad. 9/11 NEVER FORGET!!!!
  3. Capt Lester stopped by to fire house last night around 11 to show me the fish. The thing was a pig. Thanks again Chris for stopping by and showing me the fish and also for all the tips. Good luck the rest of the season. Rick
  4. Thanks for all the advice and help. Only purple I ran was atomic fly behind mt/dew SD. Trolled straight out. In circle sometimes when the wife was driving. LOL. I will look into a down speed and temp unit. I can buy a surface speed for my Lowrance X67C. Thanks again for all the help. It is greatly appreciated.
  5. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):Aug 14 Time on Water:9:30 Weather/Temp:warm Wind Speed/Direction: Waves: little wavy out in 200' with a 18' boat, better in 120' Surface Temp: 74 Location:Off Braddocks LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 1 Total Boated:1 Species Breakdown:small king Hot Lure: Trolling Speed: ? Down Speed: ? Boat Depth: 150 Lure Depth: 60 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS Went out for the first time with the wife and kids. I didn't have my dad to show me how to use the down riggers and dipsys, so I winged it. Set up at 150' with a SD MTN/DEW with green crinkle a-tom-ik fly on first rigger 60' down. Soon as I set it we caught a small king that was skipping across the top. You guys call those 'SKIPPERS" RIGHT. Thought we were golden, never saw another fish. Went out to 220' with nothing. Kids and wife were getting bored so we started to head back in. Soon as we got in 60' of water we starting marking a lot of fish 20' - 30' down. Kids and wife were excited again but nothing. Went in to Braddock to pan fish but nothing again. I might try again tomorrow from Braddocks if I can get my dad to show me the ropes. I ran 2 riggers with SD/Flys and 2 Dipsy's with DW SS and NK. I just had the dipsy's trolling behind. Didn't want to try and stack them. Had some releases on the one rigger that caught the skipper, but nothing home. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks and good luck. ====================
  6. Thanks guys, really appreciate the feedback. Looking to have the 6 reels respooled today or tomorrow and hopefully take my dad and son fishing Sat/Sun. Thanks again.
  7. I was lucky enough to have my father give me his boat and all the fishing gear to go with it. I now have 6 Diawa rods and reels. Reels are SeaLine 47H. I want to respool the reels and was wondering what everyone would suggest. My dad used to run 16lb for spring and fall. I will be fishing mostly in spring and fall for salmon/trout. So please let me know what you recommend for line. Type and lbs. Thanks a lot. Can wait to get back into salmon fishing with my dad and son.
  8. Does anyone know of a GPS that you can use for your car and boat. I would like to use the lat and lon info on the maps, but my current GPS doesn't allow lat and lon settings. The loran I had does not work any more. Thanks for your help.
  9. I am looking for specific spots to take the kids fishing in Braddocks. I am used to trolling on the lake, but the kids get bored with that. So I was told to fish Braddoks. I tired Coopers pond this past weekend and kids caught a few sunfish. I was hoping some one could give me specific spots to try and what to fish with. My family and I would greatly appreciate the help. Thank you!
  10. Name: Dickey Location:Greece Home Port:Braddocks Boat Name/Type:Blue fin I fish for:salmon, trout, bass, pan fish ================== Hello to all! After many years of fishing with my dad I have aquired his boat. I am looking forward to talking my boys and wife fishing on the lake. I have not salmon fished for many years. I plan on taking them bass, and pan fishing also, but don't know where to really fish for those now. Hedges used to be our prime SM spot. If anyone is willing to give me some pointers on where to take the kids fishing that would be great. Thanks and good luck fishing to all.
