Nice stuff! I have some video and havnt figured out the best software for editing? What do you use? It works great.

Windows Movie Maker. And its free too.
A little uglier? Looks like it might work, but no underwater buffy vids!
Might want to put a safety wire on that...

2X on bumping that speed up. On our side of the pond we go 2.9 (surface speed) and 2.5 (down speed if you have a probe).
Try an entire outing keeping your speeds at these numbers and you should put some in the net.

Skippers,
They all have a back light - you have to wire the separate light wire to your own switch and then to the battery. The unit does not have its own on/off switch for the light feature
Thanks for the tip, I guess I can tell dad he can save the flashlight batteries now, and just hook up that wire!

Cool video. How long are you streaching your fly behind the spinny? Looks kind of long in the vid. Usually 21-24" this time of year is best.
Pretty sure that one is set at 24. We also tried 20 and 19 that day, it ended up being an all spoon bite for us.

SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS
====================
Decided to give it a try even tho there were alot of storms brewing just South of us all day. Started in 75 FOW, not a good screen and not good temps so pointed her North. Picked up 4 skippys and still no screen and temps too high out around 200 FOW. Most boats had given up by the time the rain hit, it lasted about 20 minutes, by then we wanted to try some shallow water again. In around 100 FOW we had 45 degree water down 80, and some bait above. 225 Dipsy started screaming, and took me into the backing right away (have only 270' of wire on that rig + backing) watched the knot go in and out a few times before taking control of this fish, landing a 19 lb. King.
Got rods reset and and swung back thu the same stretch of water and I hear the 225 Dipsy take another ride. This one was way into the backing and I eventually got some wire back on the spool, only to see the knot rip back out thru the guides once again and "PING" the knot gives up. I guess too many high speed rips thru the eyelets? Going to spool it with 1000 feet this time around!
Looking at the approaching storm, we had time for one more pass thru that stretch and immediately hooked into double Steelies, around 7 Lbs. Kept the lines in the water on the way in and at 70 FOW, picked up a fat Brown to round out the day.
No strikes on video, but a couple lookers and a bit of the doubleheader viewed from just under the surface.

We have had a Moor for three seasons, just changed the battery this week (only get out about 20 - 30 times per season tho). It turns off as soon as you remove it from the water.
At very first set up screen was going blank at times and it was because the 9V battery was loose on one of the connections, had to squeeze the positive side of probe connector in a bit to make a secure connection to the battery.
I dont think ours has a backlight at all?

After everyone left, we found a small stretch of water in around 100 that held 45 to 48 degree water, was just W of the chute.
We worked that for two mature Kings and a doubleheader Steelie. Hate it when Ray is right, shoulda wedged 'em from the start I guess?

Excellent catch on a day with less than ideal conditions.
Way to find them and make them go!
Love that first pic.

I believe its legal when using pink poles?

Congrats on the win, nice work on getting that last silver to round out the box.
The kids looked excited and were having a great time at the weigh in, thats what its all about.
-
Nice one! Good to see you getting some on the water time too.
-
What a great day to be out on the water! Day started out well with some good silver fish, so we changed into Laker mode. Managed 5 or 6 of those to the boat but nothing over 3 lbs., Oh well, was a nice day out with Dad.
Didnt see who had the winning box, and what was the weight? Had to skip out, was "borrowing" a slip and had to get the boat back on the trailer at Taughannock.
5 Lb. Bow
8 Lb. Brown

Kids look happy, a couple more future trollers!
I am setting up a couple 50 lb DR rods tonight... I assume the wires were nasty?
-
Good luck with the Eyes, Ray.
Now knowing that we dont have to compete against him, we're in.

Check your Private Messages.

Lower them down slow, and go 20' between until you get the hang of it.
Point the two rod tips away from each other as much as you can.
I too like to stack when using lighter line in the FLX.
-
Nice batch of fish
-
Great day! Nice Chromer, saw it on the board at 11 lbs.
Gorgeous color on that Laker.
-
Saw some Repel spray today that had 40% Deet, wonder if that would work?
-
You guys did very well, way to brave them waves out there.

I've often wondered the same thing. There are times I think it does matter if it is accurate at an angle or not.
For instance, started trolling with the current and got hits at 2.4 downspeed. Turned around to go against the current and now I can see the blowback is worse and the cable is at a higher angle, and I am left wondering if I should adjust back to 2.4?

Coast Guard launch is closed till August, I think the sign read.
The launch near Margaretta Rd. is useable.

Way to go get them, thanks for the report.
