I live in I bay. The most common fish I see floating dead in the bay are walleye. Even more than dead carp. Another thing I do with crank baits is remove the front set of hooks [ Post made via iPhone ]

i dont keep any fish so all go back in i have found that walleye are fairly fragile and the longer you struggle to unhook them, the more damage you do with hooks and lack of oxygen. several years ago i switched to only using barbless hooks and it has helped quite a bit, with pike as well

Got my first walleye of the year tonight. 11pm in 4 ft of water. So I guess they are there but not very aggressive and in few numbers. Maybe more will start coming in to the shallows if it stays cloudy during the day. Got it on an old jointed crank bait, orange as usual [ Post made via iPhone ]

My stick bait in the shallows after dark strategy has not worked for me this year. Usually I get a walleye on the first cast every night. So far, nothing. But I'll Keep trying [ Post made via iPhone ]

i live on the bay and fish it all the time. im having zero luck this year. no bass. no pike. no walleye. in prior years, i would catch several of each, every night off the dock water too hot? too low? both not getting even a nibble

been 3 weeks since ive been out? any action?

saw alot of fish jumping all around genny pier yesterday afternoon and night, inside channel and on lake side. tried casting off summerville pier and had 5 hits inside channel, but nothing hooked more than a few seconds. gonna try flat lines off boat all around genny tomorrow working 5' to 15' down, offering something for salmon and something for trout and see what happens. fish are always there when i am there, but i cant make em bite lately no matter what time of day or conditions. im thinking some calm water and sun will help attract fish to my lures this weekend. muddy water like its been last week makes it more like finding needle in a hay stack. im thinking tomorrow should be good

I use single hooks on my spoons at Webster park. Can bounce off bottom easier. Egg sacs work good there too [ Post made via iPhone ]

i have been everywhere between 5 and 9 in the morning or 6 and 11 at night. no luck on boat or pier catching salmon. trout i seem to do ok was webster park full of weeds? that was the problem last year if the water was rough....leaves and weeds wind forecast looks bad for fishing piers this weekend

saw alot of fish jumping at the outlet this afternoon. there was a wide current of calm water very visible within casting range where the fishing were jumping within and at the edges. 3 hours and nothing. spoons, rapalas etc... saw a ton of salmon/trout last night 9pm after the rain stopped in I-Bay just off shore, just north of Bay Village. i could see their wake as they swam just under the surface. 100's of them that i could see were travelling south, were not jumping and were not biting. casted to them from the dock and got no bites even though they were in reach for about an hour. pretty awsome to see this happen but very frustrating. bumped a few with my lure but thats all. glow-in-dark spoons didnt even work have had no luck from shore so far. either the fish have been there and not biting, or no signs of fish at all any luck at webster park yet?

Fished the mouth of outlet by boat this morning starting at about 6:20am. Fish were jumping all over almost continuously. They were just off the boat, in shallow near shore and out a ways, flapping around and splashing. It quieted down at 8:15am. Had a nice rainbow hit as I was reeling in my line for the last time pretty much right at the mouth at about 8:10am. Not that big but gave me a nice fight. Got it on a gold and orange rapala down about 3 feet. Trolled and casted spoons and rapalas of all colors......just the 1 fish. better than none!

I fished it in the 80s too. Lots of small mouth and sheep heads then. Fished last fall first time in 20 years an got some browns and rainbows. [ Post made via iPhone ]

I've caught about 80 walleye in the bay since last year, at night. Quite a few pike too [ Post made via iPhone ]

I was at Summerville Friday but left at around 9 pm. Got nothing but the guy next to me got a brown and a king. As for bay village, I'm a few houses down and the walleye bite has stopped for me as of a few weeks ago. I wouldn't spend too long casting for salmon or trout there. Low chance they will be there. I think the creek bed is important...stones vs mud etc. I don't know what densmore is. The fish were on the south side of the reeds, in what looks like a cove by people's docks. They could have just been hangin out there in the shallows. I'm on bayshore too [ Post made via iPhone ]

I don't know if they are going in there. I never walked up to the creek to see. There was a swarm of them in front of the mouth and towards the shore/houses. I see no reason why some fish don't go in there. At some point in time a salmon must have spawned in there given it's location in relation to I-creek [ Post made via iPhone ]
