Be careful Manny, you see how my kids have turned out.
    You are doing it right.
I used to put the boys in a ground blind under the tree during deer season with drinks and snacks. I’d be in my climber above. Like you I had them on the boat at a young age.
You have so much to look forward to.
You never want to be the guy that realizes he didn’t spend enough time with his family after it’s too late to fix it.
Thankfully I’m not that guy either.
    Blessed

That’s a great picture Bill! You did a great great job. I’m looking forward to the many memories made

  2. These fish were weighed on the boat and released right there where they were caught. I’m not saying I agree with this, because it happens in such volume during a tournament like this. But at the end of the day, you have guys every day who aren’t “pros” pulling these fish off beds and don’t bat an eye.
If it were a tournament where all these bass were being brought to a weigh in, my tune would be different.

  3. At the buzzer. I took my brother out this morning and he was able to score his first turkey. I told him that he better thank me, because that was my Tom for next season lol. He was very appreciative. Great way to wrap up the season! Time to fishIMG_0581.thumb.jpeg.1bdae4a248842ef3ce629c70ed84ce3d.jpegIMG_0588.thumb.jpeg.6d4c41cf279357fce763c0017c929907.jpeg

  4. Had two first timers out on Lake Ontario before I started work this morning. Dropped lines at 5:30 and fished till 8:30. That NE wind had things shut down hard this morning. Not even the lake trout wanted to bite lol. Scattered marks and bait from 50 to 130. We did end up grabbing a few bites though. Just had to work for them. They both thought it was awesome and had a great time. I guess that’s all that matters. Would have loved for them to tie into a nice king though! Anyone been finding a good bite lately?

  5. Hit the water with the family around 5:30 and fished till 7:45. Quick trip. Started setting rods pointed North in 50 fow. Did see a lot of bait and marks from 50-80, but kept going. Worked 110 to 135 and grabbed 7 bites. Mostly small kings and a laker. Lost the biggest at the back of the boat as my daughter was reeling it in (about 12 pounds). No one stellar bait. Took 2 off the rigger, 2 rips on divers, and 3 rips on the torpedo divers off the boards. Worked 30 to 55 down. East troll was best. Good luck the rest of the weekend

  6. Unbelievable today. Took an early lunch break today and got into the woods at 10:45 at a spot I have close by to work. Sit down, let out a few yelps and a bird hammers. 11:15 bird was down. Blessed to have tagged out for the first time. Two awesome hunts to boot!

  7. Well…….I’ve put a ton of time in this year, and it all finally came together this morning. Got a picture of a Tom last night on my spypoint around 7:45pm. Figured he would be roosted somewhere close to that area. Got in early 4am, so I could sneak in close. Sat for an hour and 20 minutes before I finally heard the bird gobble. He was right in front of me about 70 yards. He proceeded to gobble about 50 times on the limb. I couldn’t see him, and he couldn’t see me as we had a huge tree in between us. Thought for sure he was going to pitch right down in-front of me, and it was going to be game over. Well as turkey hunting usually goes, the turkey did the complete opposite and pitched down into the back field. I decided to make a move and try and swing around behind him and call him into the woods. Did that exact thing. He came in spitting, drumming, and gobbling his head off. Came out onto the trail at 40 yards, and that’s all she wrote. Nothing better!!!

  8. Got my son out Saturday for the first time trolling. He has been all about fishing lately, as it’s all he talks about lol. We tried 20 to 30fow for kings for awhile, but with the waves from the NE wind I just couldn’t get a good speed. He ended up getting sick and threw up all over. Once I got him cleaned up, I asked if he wanted to go home, and he just said “no, fishy”. I said “you got it buddy” lol. Slid in to shallow water and hit a brown in short order. He was pumped, and we called it a day.

This was the first time I got him out about two weeks ago. He was loving it. He isn’t even 2 yet lol

  9. Here is the answer you are looking for for your size 1 chinook running shallow for spring fishing. 30lb braid on your size 20 reel. Then tie in a 5 to 7 ft piece of 14 to 17lb mono and attach a quality swivel. The swivel will attach to the diver. Off the back end of the diver you will run a 5 to 10 foot leader of 12lb fluorocarbon, swivels on both ends (one connected to the diver and the other connects to the lure).

Move the weight to the outside holes on both divers.

If you are running in 10ft, set the rod to 10 on the reel counter. If you are running 15th, set the rod to 15 on the reel counter…….and so on.

You are not running a snubber with these small diver while fishing skinny water. No need.

  10. Launched around 6, and had the spread set right around 6:30. The goal for this morning was some shallow water spring kings. We drove past the prime brown trout water and set up in 20fow. Worked 20 to 25fow from 6:30 to 8 before calling it a morning. Finished 6/6 with 4 browns and 2 kings. Not bad for an hour and a half. Like I said, the inside water was mint for browns. Probably could have smoked them this morning, but that wasn’t the goal.

First fish was part of a triple. That fish took a purple bayrat in long shallow off one of the boards. Second fish was another brown that took a chicken wing stinger off the chinook diver 20 back. Third fish was a brown that took an NBK stinger of the chinook diver 25 back. Fourth fish was a nice brown that took an ss dreamweaver in glow frog glow back 15’ down on the rigger. Fifth fish was a king that hit the same spoon on the rigger same depth. Number 6 was the nicest king. Took the chicken wing stinger off the chinook diver 20’ back. Was a successful quick run this morning. Promised the wife I wouldn’t be out long this morning lol. All in all, can’t complain
