  1. Selling my Garmin auto pilot. Unit was installed on a Honda 8hp kicker, different motor may require a different throttle controller from Garmin.

Great addition to any trolling enthusiast. Remove yourself from the steering wheel and have incredible control of the throttle. I was able to increase in .1 mph increments.

Perfect for anyone that wants to relax and not worry when netting fish. The only reason I'm changing is I want a bow mount for more multi species and I decided to get one with Ipilot to kill 2 birds with one stone.

I'm selling unit for $2000 Canadian obo (approx $1400-1500 usd) and can ship anywhere in Canada or North East USA.

Will have pics available within a week but don't miss out, these never come available for sale.

  2. I think it's relative to what conditions you fish in. For instance you could get a 22' boat but if you prefer not to fish in chop or big waves then it won't make a big difference. Certainly there is comfort in having a bigger boat on the big lake and the q for the Nasty November days.

I have a 19' Starcraft with a 130 etec and 8hp Honda kicker. Setup works well for me in the same applications you are doing. I will say it's only a filler boat until I can get a ranger 620fs with a 250 etec and 9.9 or 15hp kicker.

Also keep in mind aluminum is lighter and easier to tow but glass is much more comfortable in rough water and feels more solid when hitting waves.

Personally if I were you, if I planned on having the next boat for a long time, I'd be getting a 20-21 foot, split windshield, fibreglass boat with maxed out horsepower for the hull and a 9.9 Kicker.

  3. Lots of good opinions. I like the discussion. I wonder whether the Brb fish are the same population as quinte in the fall and how the slr plays into it. Could be 3 separate population bases. Salmon migrate all over western lake o so could walleye do the same?

  4. The walleye fishery isn't put and take on Canadian side, are there a lot of walleye stocks happening in ny? We rely heavily on natural reproduction up here.

  5. Just curious what people's habits are with regards to Lake Ontario walleye. Not trying to start a flame war or anything like that as we are all legally aloud to keep fish with the proper license.

Personally I keep probably 5-10 fish per year. One, because they are generally too large and not as tasty as little guys

Two, I believe in conservation, especially with larger fish.

I was out Saturday and we caught 5 walleye between 4-11lbs and all went back.

I know in Canada we are only legally allowed to possess one limit in our freezer, is this the same in New York?

It actually hurts me seeing 10lb + walleye being kept to eat. I have kids and want them to enjoy trophies also.

(Don't kill me for this post pls, just curious)

  6. Anyone having any luck out on the shoals yet or are they still in the bay's? Our shoal bite on the north side is a bit behind schedule so far. Water seems very clear this year compared to last although surface temp is similar.

  7. Issues with some of the drags. On the ones I've used, first generations, I found the drag would loosen a bit on its own and and sometimes it would be difficult to set just right. Either too loose or too tight.

Once you get used to them, they are nice. Some of these issues are already resolved.

I plan on buying some convectors. Can't justify the difference in price.
