  1. In Kingston ontario we have windmills all over Wolfe island and they ran a main power line from there under the St Lawrence into a main power station in Kingston.

This has not affected the fishing at all in the area. It continues to be tremendous walleye and musky fishing and I know salmon/trout still follow the river into some of the local tribs. This electo magnetic force is likely false or atleast not a concern. If anything I think this cable may attract fish as I have caught a lot of fish within a couple hundred yards on either side of it.

I should add that I agree the windmills are ugly and a huge waste of money.

  2. for trolling, i wont need the remote throttle. the kicker pushes the boat at 1.5mph at idle. simple would be best for me, its a small boat usually with 3 guys and a 9 rod spread.

It's nice to be able to bump the speed up in very small increments that just can't be done via controls or tiller handle. I can go up in 0.1 mph increments. My kicker idles at 1.5 also.

I fish mainly walleyes and they like 2-2.3 in summer and down to 1.3-1.5 in late fall so the control is necessary for me

Good luck with your purchase. I'm sure all of the options work well

  3. For trolling or for running to and from ?

My vote is garmin tr1 gold. Incredible unit, gives you the remote steering and throttle as well as programmable turns and routes via your head unit

  4. Isn't there a trophy walleye fishery in the bay's off Lake Ontario in ny? If not Id be goin to quinte or the St Lawrence. If I'm gonna freeze my butt off fishing Id rather catch something worth bragging about. 18-24" fish can be caught all year on most lakes.

  5. Agree with above on depending what lake. I fish Lake Ontario and bay of quinte exclusively and in only 5 years of trophy walleye fishing have caught probably 20 fish over 10 lbs and seem probably close to a hundred. I've caught a handful over 12 and one over 14. My limit is 15 before I will consider a mount. I thought of mounting 14 as it was only 30.5" and it was caught in august which is very rare.
