  1. Was skunked on my last sit, good thing I was lucky enough to get the doe for the freezer last night. 3 weeks of a break then hopefully heading back Ohio again but with the muzzleloader this time! Can't come soon enough!
  2. Good job Joe! Love the donkeys!
  3. Last sit in New York for 2016 for me also. Don't have high hopes here but I guess you never know!?
  4. Yea that's the plan just have to get the proper breach plug for the gun to be able to shoot it.
  5. 100 grains of 777 and a .295 grain Barnes Expander MZ bullets! Really want to switch to granular powder next season. But what I'm using now tips them over pretty damn good. It's the only thing I use all season . Shotgun never leaves the gun cabinet!
  6. Couldn't agree more Brian, the Accura V2 is an awsome gun! Took this girl at 70 yards with it last night and was dead before I pulled the trigger!
  7. Heart is my favorite also!! To put a hole in that is!
  8. I finally touched one off this evening! Not a buck but a big mature doe. Had 4 deer around me most of the time I was on stand. Waited to see if a buck would show but never did. Took the shot at about 70 yards and she didn't make it 40 yards. Took the top of her heart off and made a pretty bad mess of one lung. With the season at its end had to get another one for the freezer.
  9. Nets are for fishermen! Gross is what matters
  10. Seen deer all over in my drive, and kicked one up walking in. Hoping this warmer wether makes them want the winter wheat. Only small bucks get the pass from here on out!
  11. Just another zero for me tonight. Hard to believe.
  12. Just busting chops, muzzleloaders are not the fastest guns to reload obviously. So two bucks is a far stretch!
  13. Good thing my reloading skills are off the chart!
  14. Just got off the phone with the DEC, YES you can use both buck tags during the late season if you have the tags and both become either fun loving. That be said I got alot of work to do in the next few days. Lol
  15. I read that earlier, still doesn't specifically say you can take 2 bucks during the late season. BUT the way it reads I would say that yes you can if you have both tags.
  16. Back to the all tags are valid talk..... we were talking last night about it. If you still have both your buck tags...... are you allowed to use both during the late season if you choose or only one?
  17. Little inappropriate don't you think Rob? This is a family site..... lol
  18. Congrats! Great late season buck!
  19. Another side note that people don't think about is that our winters are much harder on the deer out west. That place a huge roll in the health of a herd.
  20. Exactly why I process my own! I don't trust what I'm getting back. That sucks man!
  21. Another little side note for my beliefs, comes down to education! The deer we hunt here in NY are by far alot smarter as far as hunter awareness goes! To kill a mature doe with a with a bow here is a task and a half, not to even mention a mature buck! Alot of the mid west States the pressure is MUCH lower and I'd bet a good percentage of the deer don't make much contact with humans through out a season more then a time or two. Our deer walk around looking up, which means harder to see let alone kill! So it's not that there not out there in good numbers, they just are to damn smart and beat us more times then not!
  22. I wouldn't be apposed to one buck myself, but if you guys look it up, the mid west States are no different in exception of Ohio. Iowa, Missouri, Indiana, and so on are all allowed at least 2 bucks and if you are a land owner you can get up to 3! So I don't believe it necessarily the numbers of bucks taken. It's the length of the shotgun/ rifle seasons and the timing of them. Not to mention the number of people of reside from state to state that hunt. I know where I am it's every other tree vs. Other places out west where it can be miles.
  23. Snowing like crazy! Took me longer to get home (6 miles ) then I actually sat.
  24. Wish it would stop snowing! Get these deer here a little faster....
  25. It was a pleasure to be there with both you and Hunter to recover him! Beutifull Buck for sure and no one deserves it as much as you! Congrats again Robert! Also I can confirm that not only did Rob have a big smile on his face I'm pretty sure he even took his shirt off at some point, and it was cold! The things a deer will make you do.......
