Settled in for the last sit before hell breaks loose! Wind is completely wrong for this spot but after tomorrow this will be completely ruined! With this heat water is key. Bedding all around me, gunna take ALOT of luck but it's the place to be!

Everyone that is down to the wire like I am I can't express enough on hunting water the next two days if you can!! With the lack of rain we have had and the big boys really on the prowl again they HAVE to have water! Does are harder to come by then the first round was which means Bucks have to put more time on there feet to find a receptive doe. Not to mention they have there winter gear on and it's going to be 70 degrees the next few days. Water has been the ticket for me this season even though I haven't let one fly yet. Good luck guys!

Got the deer I had at 35 yards on camera right before he hit the pond. 10 point not 8. Can't catch a break this year!

Just sat down 15 mins ago, first deer of the night was a first rack 6pt

Tops will go first for sure. Then once all natural browse are gone and food becomes scarce then they will root for the bulbs. It's fun to watch them when you have snow on the ground, they dig there face in the snow and come up with a big ol turnip in there mouth face covered in snow and munch away. I have been using Evolved Harvest Shot Plot, which is Forage Rape and Turnips.

Absolutely! Turnips Are gold for us come late season! The only problem is this year the deer already have mowed them ALL to the ground.

Had the same thing happen to me during gun season last year. 2 days after I took my buck I had a giants at 40 yards! Hardest thing ever to not pull the trigger knowing how easy it would be to get away with it. Still have not layed eyes on that deer since.

This work thing is overrated! Back to reality unfortunately. Hopefully get out a few evenings this week before all hell beaks loose! This "Trophy" hunting thing is a tough task! This will be my 3rd season in a row without harvesting a buck with my bow. 3.5 is what I have been targeting and I have had my few opportunities over the last couple season but for one reason or another have not been able to get the job done. I had about 90 hours in a tree over the last 9 days alone and only 2 encounters with deer over that bar I have set for myself. The day it happens will be a good one!

I have been, I have sat in 20 different spots over the last 2 weeks on 260 ares between 3 properties. All I do is move. Just wierd that this is the first sit in this spot and zero action. Deer are def locked down here.

Dead here, new spot in the hards woods with some clover we layed down and the water hole we dug. Hope and a dream but they do get thirsty during the rut I think. Wind sucks

One lone doe 10 mins ago and that's it do far. If I could guess I would say she was all done being bread by the looks of her.

Back in that sattal , only 3 small bucks this morning. Back where I had the encounter with "Ocho" on Wednesday. Let it rest for a few days in hopes of a big boy to revisit the area!
