I watch the Drury show Thirteen, the last episode was called "Green Revisited". This show tells what things you should pay attention in each phase of the season. Dates Nov 26th through Dec 4th. This phase the number one thing is to sleep in! The deer are already back to bed b4 we walk into the woods. They say it is very important to ONLY hunt the afternoons right now and to be on or close to food. I tell you what for a hunting shoe this one is a good one for the info you can pick up on. And to be honest every thing they have said is pretty damn close.

Tonight I gota work late and decided I was going to sneak in and check my camera where I missed my bow buck. Decided I would sit till dark and maybe shoot a doe if possible. At 420 I look up and at 55 yrds is an easy 150s 10pt!! Sick to my stomach that I was not able to pull the trigger! Shaking like a leaf and there was nothing I could do. O yea got this guy on camera there to!

Sunday night I had 12 doe and 3 bucks mowing the turnips down! That was only one of the three turnip fields we have, we also have 3 with clover plots this year to rotate the corn out from last season that they love also. There is a big field to the north of us that has alfalfa in it that the deer don't seem to have much interest in.

Over? He'll it never even showed it self where I am LOL. No I'm sure there is still doe's that have not been bread yet, and 2nd rut is about to be upon us. This week has always proven to be good to me, especially Nov 29th. I've taken to nice bucks on the evening of the 29th in the past 3 seasons, this is the one from two years ago......

Food plots vs. Dumping a bag of acorn rage are not even in the same league as far as I am concerned. Most people have no idea how much time, sweat and MONEY goes into food plot. 95% of hunters would just hear what it takes and costs and would never even attempt it. Much easier for joe blow to go to walmart to grab a bag of whatever they want dump it 20yrds in front of them and shoot the 1st button buck that comes by. Food plots we plant are so the property will hold the deer so they don't wander to the neighbors and get shot. Also to help sustain the herd throughout the winter when they need it the most.

Thank you everyone!! It has by far been my toughest season to date. He just started showing up on camera the last 3 days, hunted a different spot where he was yesterday with only to have a coyote run off all the deer. Moved to the other side of the property where I was getting only night and early morning pics if him. Carried a latter in with me this afternoon to hunt the turnip field that I've yet to sit. Seen a spike, smaller 8pt and 12 doe filter into the field. I caught him out of the corner of my eye at 25yrds! Turned the scope down to 3 power and cocked the hammer back, as soon as I did it echoed in the house i was in and doe through her head up! Once she settled I swung the gun on him and bang! He went 50 yrds or so I could barely see him tip over with all the smoke! Awsome sit!
