This is my first year with cut bait...I get the herring strips from Gagnon sports and so far they have been alright. I know it sais you shouldn't use spin doc's with them but I always use spin doctors on my stuff...flies having a shorter line then spoons and so on... As for size of your spin doctors...i can't see what size you pick being an issue...each one works...fish will bite anything if their hungry enough...try both and see what one works best for you.

Took a big hit on this dual fly I made up the other day...been working like a charm...fish came off though...then brought in a low 20's chinook on a white fly with black spin doctor. Tomorrow morning should have some nice hooks waiting just outside the lighthouse.

nice fishing...im out of whitby too....maybe ill try dipsy's down 40-50 fow and see if anything bites. havent been catching anything deep lately.

We fish out of whitby so you wont be far from us that weekend....fishing channel is normally 69....tune in and you'll hear some action of people hittin fish. As for depth...it really depends but it's probably safe to say...go from about 120-200 and you'll hit something. for bait fish....we always hit huge schools of bait fish....doesn't make any difference for us...we always catch fish when the screen is clear for the most part. I'd say just go out there and have some fun...hopefully the weather is nice.

whitby hasnt had much luck i guess...cept one guy getting 17 fish in yesaturday tourney i heard on the radio...personally i think the fish are all over the place...people saying go deep but my friend got a 25lb in the boat at 140feet of water...flies 100 down..who knows anymore hah

im not in the port credit area but i've been out 6 times in a row and caught 2 browns...thats all...tried all depths....speed is perfect...using flies..lures...everything...just can't seem to hit anything...marking a ton of fish though...and sometimes you can even see them follow the boat....just not biting....no idea whats going on...meanwhile...other people are catching

We went out yesturday for 7 hours...6am-1pm....didnt catch or get a bite what so ever....fished infront of whitby...100-150 fow...then went to pickering...100-350fow....covered everything....speed was right...people all around us catching fish....no idea what else to try...starting to get frustrated lol

i would sorta think you'd want them matte black or something....so as light doesnt reflect off the cannon ball...i always thought they scared the fish away from the bait and what not

i love the fight they give you...and they taste awesome...only reason i dont like them is because no one around here does tourneys with them hah

I dont have one of those underwater probes yet so i was wondering if you guys know the "average" depth i should have my lines down in about 150-250 feet of water to get to the right water temperature...i know it changes and can be different everywhere....kind of looking to get a general idea though....especially infront of the whitby/pickering area.

Today we marked a ton of fish outside whitby/pickering around 100-120 fow...huge marks too down at about 70-80 feet....however...couldnt even get a bite...no idea why...i tried everything. tried different speeds....had lures at all different depths....every color you could imagine...last 4 days have sucked for me. anyone else having issues getting the fish in this area lately?

trying to learn where all the big fish are....get things more interesting but we really only fish in about 100-150 fow....in order to get the big ones how deep should i go and at what depth should my lines be at? Right now I'm using lures with spin doctors but havent been catching much lately.....gps troll speed 2.2-2.5. any tips would be greatly appreciated

I was on the lake the other day fishing in a local tournament. We had the VHF radio on the channel that all the fisher's were on. I couldn't help but notice there were a group of guys talking about all these fish they were catching for the tourney but they never said how much they weighed. One guy told his friend to call him on his cellphone to hear the weight......seriously dude?... I don't know if anyone here does the same thing...but why not let everyone know the weight of the fish you caught especially in a tournament....that way...say if you catch a 20lb salmon....if i catch a 18 lb salmon...i can put it back in the lake instead of letting it die for no reason. It may sound like I'm ****ing, but I just don't see the point in "hiding" things like this from other people in tournaments that only require you to keep 1 fish.

I'm only 22 and no mechanic but its an inboard motor so I believe its a little different. I'm going to take the hose off the seacock and off the thermo housing, hook a hose up and try and flush that water pipe backwards. The oil and tranny coolers are on the same line so maybe some pieces of the impeller got lodged in the coolers, I don't see any harm with flushing them backwards. Shouldn't do any harm to the new impeller by going backwards either [ Post made via BlackBerry ]

The other day we went out to go fishing, both engines worked fine...turned the one engine off for about 3 hours, when we turned it back on, there was no water coming from the exhaust and the engine started to overheat. We have twin 1988 Mercruiser 7.4 litres. Turned out the impeller crapped out on the motor. We replaced the impeller today, started the motor up and still overheating with no water coming from exhaust. I have a feeling there is a block somewhere in the cooling system either from basic crap build up, or from the impeller's left over pieces im not to sure. Does anyone here have an idea what could be causing this, and if you think there is a block somewhere, any idea where it most likely will be? I'm thinking it would be best to undo all the water lines and see if there's a block anywhere, just limited work space to do so. Any help would be greatly appreciated. if you need more info i can reply with it

Hey everyone, I'm 22 years old and want to look into starting up a charter I'm not looking into making money off starting a charter, I would like to start a charter "business" up for children that have mental disabilities, that don't have the chance to just wake up in the morning and decide to go fishing. I think that if I just took kids out for 4-6 hours in a day it would make a world of a difference for them whether you catch something or not. I'm not a pro at fishing but I still catch a decent amount of fish if it's the right day. I'm just wondering is there a license I need to acquire and a certain insurance policy I need to obtain in order to run this sort of this? Any information is greatly appreciated.

when ever i tie my knots i always we the line with my mouth before doing the final tighten. Don't know why it works it just does.
