  1. You got outriggers...use them for your copper. That is the best use of equipment you already have, not to mention quick and fun. Lure Speed changes dramatically with turns and rough water trolling to help trigger hits...especialy on spoons. Get a 600 and a shorter 300 or 400. You can run the 600 any distance and the 300,400 can be your middle ground. Keep the two at least 100 foot length apart.

Mark , will the outriggers with copper clear the dipsey with no issues?

  2. I've done some research on this and know it will start an argument and there are better choices. I'm just looking for some of your opinions. My littlest brother will be old enough to gun hunt soon and really likes the .223. Bullet style and size will be a factor all shots will be under 150 yds most being under 80yds. Any suggestions or experience with this would be great. I do handload so custom ammo is an option.

A 223 will work fine I have seen that cartridge blow threw a shoulder and out the other side of a white tail ,at 100 yards, what the bullet lacks in grains it makes up for in speed.

  4. Fish on I run twin 225 optima's they troll fine, I take turns running them couple hours then I will shut one off and switch to the other to keep the hours even. I run them at about 4000 rpm on the way back to port to clean any gunk out. If you are going to be skiing and tubing as well the optima's has great hole shots.

  5. For river fishing I like a 8 weight middle of the road for steel and salmon . I usually go up in one weight class for the fly line, seems to load up the rod and casts better in wind. just my opinion buy a higher end rod with a warranty, just a matter of time before you break a rod in a car door, tree, fish. ......

  6. just finished taking 5 limits and the lake flipped. lake went from blubird/crap in about 10- 15minutes. friend complained he was shocked touching a rock. i got a good 110v shock picking up ducks from the ice. we heard thunder ,but did not see lightning.

  7. That's weird, Do they say Saltwater on the sides in blue writing? If so those are geared toward Saltwater enviroments and I have seen them on alot on center consoles down south (some up here) and have some different parts in them to prevent corrortion they probably have a flush on them as well. If it's a direct injected 2 stroke DI it's an Opti. What does your cowling say.

The motors are on a CC, they do have flush fittings on them , as far as on the sides just says mercury.
