So I bought a 225 penn yan outrage! Gerritt and I Launched it Saturday and drove it around the bay to get used to it for fishing Sunday. After that, got the boat in a slip at skippers to tie it up for the rest of the season. Connor and myself slept on the boat Saturday night and Gerritt met us there in the morning. We Took the new Apple Boy ll out to break it in on some big fish!! We were greeted with some decent waves. We decided to give it a go and see how it did. We ran out to 40ft and I started to put down a spread. It consisted of 4 riggers (45,65,85,105ft) which were pulling spoons and two wires on a 2 setting (250,340ft) which were pulling spin doctor/E chips with flies. the boat was handing the waves great but the two guys I had with me were not as well. We dragged lures untill about 8:30 looping in and out from 150 to 100ft when the 250 dipsy started hauling over 105fow!Connor was on another big fish as it went almost out to 500ft. It was a long battle and he did great with the rollers! It was a 25lb male king . Fished to about 11 and then called it a day. It was a great day and hope to get out a few more times! Pictures coming later! -Kyle ==================== [ Post made via iPhone ]
  8. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name:Apple Boy ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):9/2/12 Time on Water:6:00am-1:00pm Weather/Temp:sunny Wind Speed/Direction: Waves: <1 Surface Temp: 75 Location:Sodus LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 4 Total Boated:2 Species Breakdown:King, brown Hot Lure: Trolling Speed: 2.5-2.7 Down Speed: Boat Depth: 110ft-170ft Lure Depth: riggers- 95,105. Dipsy- 340,380 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS. Took my friend out dalton today. We set up straight out of the chute in 70FOW. We worked out to 170 and found that the best screen was in about 120ft. We then worked west and had one release on the 85 rigger but missed it. It was slow for awhile and the the 340 dipsy pulling a white board green dots hypnotist fly got slammed. I was getting it out of the rod holder and it was gone .... And so was the whole dipsy set up. There must have been a small Frey in the wire and it broke. We got set back up and kept trolling west. We were almost down by Hughes and found a decent stretch. The 380 dipsy pulling meat took a 16lb king and we got also a 6lb brown of the 340 dipsy out in 160 ft. We had another nice fish on the meat out in 160ft but came unbuttoned. It was a rough day for us because I could not keep the riggers untangled! The spoons would get caught on the other rigger cable and then the rigger balls crossed and tangled. Besides that it was a good day on the water ! ==================== [ Post made via iPhone ]
  9. The Echo One team consisted of Jack, Chaz, Kristen, and myself Kyle. Friday: We got out on friday around 5:15am to pre-fish for saturday. Our goal was to search around and try to find where the fish were.We had a nice calm lake and set up in 85FOW. The screen was LOADED!!! We started to piont north and put down two riggers and two dipsys to start with free slider on one rigger and one was stacked. We had spoons on riggers and spin doctor fly combos on dipsys. Our first fish was about a 20lb king which came of the rigger pulling a NK. We worked out to 200 feet of water and then headed it back south to go through the big hooks. On our way in we sent 450ft of copper out on the board pulling a spin doctor with meat. That ended up rotting all day. When We got in to 100FOW Jack turned to head back out as we did not get anything. As he finished the turn the 90ft rigger rigger fired! a 24lb king hit a gator spoon off the free slider. It was slow for awile and jack pionted it north. We made it all the way out to 550ft and headed it east. Jack had a green e-chip on the 110ft rigger which got a 10 lb king out there. On the way in we mised one hit on the rigger. We called it a day at 1pm and went 3 for 4. The strange thing is that we did not have a hit on dipsys all day! Saturday: Got to the boat at 5:00am and every one was ready to have a fun day on the water! As we got out to the lake and there was a hard south wind. We shut down in 65 feet of water and waited till 6:00am. The screen was loaded as it was friday morning. We decided to run a four rod program with free sliders. By 6:40 I fought a 4lb brown to the boat that hit an orange spoon on the slider. (Chaz's Rigger) By 7:30 The same rod fired and kristen was fighting a 5lb brown to the boat which hit a purple glow green froggy down 65feet. By 7:50 The same set up fired again with the rod with the broken clicker. Kristen grabed the rod and the thing took line away silently! (Broken Clicker) It took a lot of line and Kristen took her time and fought a 27.95lb king to the boat!! We debated on running it in for the loc because she is a youth, but decided to keep working the morning bite. As i was in the cuddy getting the next setup to try because my side did not get a hit or fish yet..... Zing zing Zing the dipsy started ripping. I landed a 16lb-17lb king! It was slow after that as we kept trying to change things up and Jack put down a firetiger on the slider and we were able to get a brown to end up going to weigh in 5 for 5. 3Browns and 2 kings. Before we headed to weigh in we stopped at davenports to weigh in Kristen king which took 1st for the youth salmon at 27.13lb, but is not any more. It was a great fish! Our total box wight was 48 and change which put us at 98 and change points Kristen took Big fish for the event! Out of the whole weekend we hooked into everything that bit beside a hit and miss on the rigger on friday!!! Sharp hooks! Thanks for the great tournement and fishing!
  10. Thanks every one! We had a ball out there! Wayne- I bet that 6 incher put up a good fight !

I got my friend Connor and his Dad Rich to come out with me! I heard from people in the morning that many had gotten skunked our managed just a few fish. The lake was perfect and we cruised out and set up in 90 feet of water. Things were slow as we worked the 90 to 160 ft water to try to get some big kings on the bottom. Things did not work so we slid out to deeper water. We started getting a real good screen with marks down 100 with occasional bait pods. As we made it to 200 we turned south to work back through the 180-195ft range. As we got to 187 the 340 dipsy pulling a white board green dot spiny pulling a hypnotist fly started peeling line! I handed the rod of to connor and the counter was at 625ft. It was about a 25 minute fight while connor and myself took turns realling in the fish. While we were working the fish the 110ft rigger pulling sea sick waddlers fired and I did not make it in time to have the fish hook up. We got the skunk out for the day with a 28lb king!!! We found two honey holes that we kept working through, producing hits each time. Rich lost a samll one behing the boat, but as soon as i sent the 110 rigger back down it popped with beautiful steely! I sent the rigger back down and in about two minutes it fired again as i was washing down the floor! I jumped on the rod and fought a nice brown to the boat! We had a realease on the 100ft rigger whih was pulling a gator spin doc with a ultra green glow fly. The meat was quit so ipulled it to check it and it was just the teaser head and no meat. I switched out the teaser with a new teaser i got at warrens friday night. Put the fresh meat down and no sooner was connor fighing a king all by himself. It was about 10-11lbs It was about 7:15pm and we were thinking about looping through our honey hole and call it a day. We were glad we did that as the 340 dipsy started ripping agian. Rich was fighing his first big King salmon! It was about a 20 minute fight and to finish up the day with a 25lb king!! All if our hits came in the 185ft-195ft! Good luck to every one fishing the loc and farihaven challenge this coming weekend!

Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: Echo One ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):7/14/12 Time on Water:5:00am-noon Weather/Temp: Wind Speed/Direction light south breeze Waves: Surface Temp: Location:Sodus LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 7 Total Boated:2 Species Breakdown:kings Hot Lure: Dalmatian spin doctor green fly Trolling Speed: 2.7 Down Speed: 2.5 Boat Depth: 100ft-380ft Lure Depth: 30ft- 110ft ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS. Jack, (echo one) Chaz (Indesisive) Kyle (apple boy) all went fishing together friday night. We had a teenager king and a small steelie. We figured it would be an early bite, so we were on the water by 5am on Saturday. It started of slow for us. Then the 65ft rigger fires with a small skip on the free slider! He managed to skip himself off! Then the 330 dipsy fires and started rippin line. It about spooled the reel.we got the fish 20 ft from the back I the boat and the fish was gone! We though it bit the line but the swivel clip on the spin doctor broke!!! The fish looked to be in the low 20s. We had several hits and the the rigger goes again with a nice 14lb king that jack lands! The skunks out. By this time it was around ten am. ( king had a huge lamprey on it). A few more hits go by and the 330 dipsy goes again! Kyle was standing right next to the rod and was already out to 440ft. I got the fish to slow down at 700 ft and started to gain a few feet. Chaz started clearing lines and jack was started to makr loops to chase the fish!( thank you to the boat who turned to the east to make the turn possible !) Kyle got the fish to 350ft and we t back out to 650ft. It made 3 Good tips and knew Kyle had his biggest fish on so far! (22lbs). As the fish was netted we went strait to wiegh in! The fish looked to be 30+lbs. The fished just missed the board but it was a great day of fishing!! The fish was a male 28lb 4oz. It was 41inches and had a huge girth! Thanks! I will post picture in the am. ==================== [ Post made via iPhone ]
