  1. Guys, This will be my first year using the copper. I recently purchased 45# copper w/backing and 30' of leader spooled on an Okuma Clarion 553LS (ATomik). I don't have the mono spliced in between the backing and copper. Can you just place the backing (PowerPro) directly into the scotty release? Thanks
  2. Another vote for the Diawa SG27's
  3. I run two Marlin HP's and a pair of Mag20DT's on my boat, all with telescoping booms. As ScottB pointed out, they have a fast retrieval rate. I had a problem with one of them (had to wiggle the power cable once inawhile to keep power to the unit). Of course, this was during late August, so I waited until the end of the season and took care of it. Additionally, I had heard that the touchpad keyboard can build up moisture and sometimes fail (hasn't happened to me). I have alot of hours on mine. If you can get a deal on them....go for it, I don't think you will be sorry
  4. Hookedup, I just purchased this rod to run my copper wire setup based on Tom's (ATomik) recommendation. Have you used this with leadcore?
  5. Love it! I usually fish with one other person. This will allow for two additional lines in the water! Yea
  6. Thanks Tim, I have been trolling Lake O for the past 20+ years with pretty good success utilizing downriggers, Thumpers, wire line dipsey's and planar boards. With the clearer water, I figured it was time to try the leadcore (also giving copper its due justice in the upcoming season ). I was wondering what everyone's preference is regarding light vs medium vs medium heavy rod selection. The plan was to utilize either one of my 8 ft rigger rods or the dipsey rod. I am going to run 10 color so will take your advice and pick up another diver rod. Thanks again Tim! Walt
  7. What rod do you guys recommend for leadcore? Thanks, Walt
