Wasn’t my biggest steelhead, but it was cool to catch a fantail. Here is a repo mount I got done

I literally read your post Wednesday night about the fantail and bang the next morning I get one.  Awesome mount who did it for you?  I think I may have mine done.

  2. I got a 14lb female steelhead a few years ago. 33" fish.  I am finally going to have a replica mount done.  I debated and debated because it was only 14lbs.  But I agree if there is a good story behind the catch, the fight, personal best, beautiful fish etc.  It doesn't really  have much to do with weight as it has to do with your experience and you.  You could wait all your life and never get one mounted even though you may have caught hundreds of more fish than the next guy went out once and just got plain ass lucky. Congrats

Hey Geoice nice catch.  What Lowrance unit is that you're using?  How do you like it?  I have a hummingbird ice 35 and I am thinking of changing up.

  4. Ok Ladies and Gents,  It's been a long time since I targeted smallmouth in Lake O.  The last time I was out was when you could still use crabs and minnows and drift fish for them.  So I am wondering if anyone still targets them and generally how deep are you going.  Are you drop shotting for them or using bait and how deep do you have to go to get out of the gobie zone.  I am looking to go out of Sandy or Ibay and maybe hit the Wautoma Shoals or head east towards Ginna.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
