  1. A bit of a late report, but I was waiting for a buddy to send me some pics......which he still hasn't done. Made a trip down to bluffers park on sunday the 24th with a few buddies/2 boats. Launched around 630am and headed out to the drop. There was a pile of boats working the drop-off and I hate combat fishing so we trolled past them about half way to the filtration plant in 200 fow. First hour was slow until we got a pattern going. Ended 9-12 with all but 1 fish being matures......1 steelie. Wire divers 240-320 back did most of the damage with pro-troll boards/atommik flies. Riggers took 3 rips with black/green big erns down 80-130. Biggest fish for us was 24lbs, most were in the 18-22 range. My buddy took a 27 just before lunch time. It was a steady pick most of the morning but I forgot how much fun it is dealing with pissed off kings on wire outfits . Took the 407 home back to Guelph and got pulled over by the MNR going across the top of toronto. He checked our fishing licences, searched the vehicle and boat. I thanked the guy for doing his job as it seems some guys give him allot of grief. I wish there was more CO's around. He did ask if we caught any atlantics . I politely told him I have only seen a couple in the past 5 years or so and he got a good chuckle. Be nice to these guys if you happen to cross paths with them. There are only doing there job and protecting this great fishery for future generations PICS ADDED
  2. Thanks for the report Ruhl. Tightlines to you up in Alma. Used to play fastball up there when I was a kid. good times.
  3. Headed out of the lift bridge solo this morning to get my fix in before the t-storms scatter the fish. Set up off the apartments west of the shell pier with a 2 rod rigger spread. Found a couple huge bait schools in 120 fow so I worked the area and quickly had 2 cookie cutter coho's and 1 steelie in the boat. Most marks on the graph were in the upper 50 ft range and with the down temp being 54+ I figured I'd have to fish deeper if I wanted some chinook action. I dropped my rods deeper with a flasher/fly on the port rigger set at 75' down/10' back and a die hard stingray down 90'/25' back. I could see lot's of streakers coming into the spread and leaving until I got my leads dialed in. After about an hour it started to produce. Banged 2 nice low 20's kings before 10a.m. when those stupid biting flies sent me for the ramp. All fish came on the stingray diehard. Didn't see another boat all morning.
  4. Thanks for the report Superdad. Great times fishing with family. Man I wish my Dad was still around to enjoy these moments . Cherish these ones dude. Catching fish is only part of the experience.

Had our first fish before we got our third rod down. A spunky little 10# chinny on a mixed veggies michigan stinger down 50. Then things went silent for a while so we slid out deeper to 160 and changed up our spread. Within minutes we had a double going with 15# & 20# kings. One on a lemon ice colored big ern down 90 and the other on a green pro-troll/hammer fly back 180 on wire. Landed another around 15# on a white protroll/bfly back 220 on wire about 20 min later. Things went silent again for a while, then around 7:15 pm we sent a magnum white/glow lyman down 130 and within minutes a beauty 25# springer was off to oswego. Missed a couple of other good rips on the wire. Not the numbers allot of guys a reporting but all things considered, a pretty good day and managed to get a relative newbie into some decent fish.Pics are on his phone as my camera **** the bed. I'll post when he sends them to me.
  6. Yeah dude, the NE'ly's picked up in the aft. I would have fished Jordan if the winds allowed but I had the itch to test my motor which just had some major work done. Everything running great. Bring on the Kings .
