Solid 4-6 footers all day today throughout point peninsula, pillar point, BRB, etc... 1 foot or less... Haha Gotta love it. 15hr day on the water in that beats ya up.
Hope you didn't have to turn around.
Tomorrow should be better. Best of luck!!

P.s. John - you ready to replace carpeting already in that new Lund of yours?? I would imagine it's close with all the slobs you've been pulling in this year and last! Haha

That water can change everyday depending on the wind direction. Stony point was 41° Sunday morning and down to drowned island was 46-48. Last year it did this and by memorial day I'd was crystal clear cold water in black river bay. It can change quickly. When we came in Sunday the temp just off stony was already up to 44 from the west winds.

Agreed. Ya never know. Makes fishing interesting... each day can be a bit different this time of year.

Yes sir. That heavy east wind Friday night didn't help. Water temps were high Saturday everywhere. Didn't fish Sunday. I imagine the west wind helped push colder water in for Sunday though.

Water is warming up fast guys. Went from 50deg on Tuesday to over 61deg on Saturday in the warmest pockets. That temp swing has scattered the walleye a bit. They're still around but don't seem to be as concentrated as they were the first week where a limit could easily be had. Many more bottom huggers. Get deep and entice those neutral fish and you'll still boat some nice eyes before they move out.
Pics are always nice:
Good luck out there!!

I run the new Cannon Mag 10 STX's on both my boats and love em. I like that Cannon is made in USA - Scotty isn't. Some may not care but I'm always interested in going USA whenever possible.

Debris was pretty bad out there today. Chocolate water. Rivers are flowing high and hard. Should be a great season opener though...

Buddy launched out of Stoney creek this morning. Ice still on shore. 38deg water, finally found 40deg and got into some fish. Pretty sure things are cleared out and fishable. Definitely by this weekend.

Thanks Brian! I have a whole new appreciation for boats that are rigged like this. What a ton of work and time (and $) when starting from scratch.
Does everyone do this themselves or are there full service marine shops that take on this effort? I don't think I'd want to do it again. Haha

I opened camp yesterday in Henderson. Black river is getting lower. The bait shop you talk about PAP took on 3ft of water inside. Nice weekend but ice still visible out there. Will give it a go this weekend in the smaller boat. Regardless will post conditions when I get out.

Walleye fishing at Port Clinton, OH?
in Walleye
Posted
Where I grew up fishing (and my first job at 14 y/o at cedar point). Port Clinton will give you a short run in the boat, but even launching in Sandusky bay it's not far. Much different tactics then Ontario - not sure what your walleye background is. Worm harnesses, Erie Derie's, you can't go wrong there. If you find em, you'll have a fun day! Best of luck!
