  1. steve,is that a 4-stroke motor???i have had the control king on the boat for 2 years now.the control dial started to "act up" at the end of this season, when you go to adjust the dial the rpms jump up and down, making it tough to get speed right.i have not called the company yet to see if it can be fixed.also, dont try to cut corners like f.t. said, the guy who installed mine, took 12 volt power from the starter solinoid on the motor and when you tried to raise engine rpms it would make the servo motor go crazy,so make sure you run power wires to your battery.

  2. just booked a room for the salmon school at the quality hotel and inn at the falls.we stayed there last year,it is right across the street from the convention center.it is a nice place and has a bar and restaurant.i checked a few places like expedia,hotels.com,and travelocity and the prices were all the same.2 double beds with a non refundable payment was 58 bucks and a refundable booking was 72 bucks.a queen bed was 10 bucks more per night.

  3. nice job dan,we took a trip down last week to the atlantic highlands and jumped on a party boat friday night,we didnt get any stripers, but it was great being out on the water at night in shorts in the middle of novemeber!!!probably our last trip till the spring run in the hudson.

  4. last year was our first time and it was great.looking forward to going again this year.we booked our motel room early and got a great price, like 70 bucks a night.i posted the info.here on lou and some members tried booking the same motel a few weeks later and they paid over 100 bucks a night.so if you know you are going.book early!!!

  5. ive never owned an i/o,but have worked at a few marinas over the years and like what was said above,an oil"sucker"is the way to go.yes, they have a thin plastic vacum line that goes down the dipstick tube.you should run the motor for a bit to get the oil warm, the oil comes out alot easier.

  6. i have a portable xm head unit, then you can buy the docking stations and put one in your truck, car, boat, house and then when you get to the dock, take the head unit out of your truck and plug it into the docking unit in your boat and you are good to go.if you are going to replace the stereo in your boat, get one with a rca jack in the front, then all you need is a rca cable to connect docking station to stereo.i bought the complete kits that come with the docking station and antenna on ebay for about 15 bucks a piece.

  7. We went Saturday to the open house, the first part of the ladder where the gate is to let fish in was full, the next section had some fish and the rest of them to the stream had a fish or two in them.we watched the fish jumping up the ladders and noticed a lot of small fish, there were some monsters in there, but saw a lot of small ones.
