I bought a Riviera Planer Board Mast with the spring loaded automatic reels this spring. It has worked very well so far. You just drive the boat slowly towards the board as the reel automatically takes up the slack. So far so good.

I wouldn't try it. Not saying it can't be done though.

Launched at Stony on Sunday. It was a bit tricky with my 18 foot Skeeter. I would not recommend it unless you know it very well. No action at all.

Thanks for the replies. We did not do very well, but did learn a lot. We tried around Pt. Salubrious and Cherry Island Saturday. There were a lot of boats. We met some great guys at the Chaumont launch Saturday at lunch and they gave us some great tips also. They had a livewell full of big walleyes from 7-10 pounds. We fished Oneida, Chaumont and Henderson. Caught some nice perch and some small keeper walleyes. Also a few smallies, one over 20 inches, along with some pickerel. We had enough action to keep it very intersting. I loved it. Can't wait to get back.

We are going up for the weekend. Anyone having any luck with the browns or walleyes? We are fairly new to this game. Any tips would be welcome!
