  1. I just put a Yamaha High Thrust 9.9 on my Skeeter MX 1825 last week. Shakedown was good. Headed to Lake Ontario Sunday night to give it a good workout.
  2. Problem solved. Plugged trickle charger on to cranking battery for two hours. Then tried the onboard and it showed it was charging. Started the outboard 15 minutes ago.
  3. I left my key on and all three of my batteries were dead. My trolling motor batteries are charging now, but my cranking battery is not. Does anyone know if it will start to charge at some point? Thanks.
  4. Fished this past Friday. Caught one dink and had no other action. Another boat in the harbor did about as well. Did see some bait though, which was encouraging. Got a report today from Oswego. No one fishing for salmon. The charters did well on lake trout today. Hoping things get better.
  5. Thanks. I believe I will keep it simple and just get the "same transducer." I have no idea what I hit with it, but it is pretty well smashed up. Cannot think of an "incident."
  6. Somehow the transducer for my Humminbird 998 HD SI was damaged this weekend. I need a new one. Do I need the exact some transducer? Is their a better choice? I am going to call my nearby Minnkota Authorized Repair Center, but thought someone may have some suggestions or advice. Thanks.
  7. We fished Black River Bay Wednesday night, all day Thursday and Friday morning. Thursday night we launched in Dexter, floated down the river and tried the bay near the mouth of the river. We caught two walleyes 3.5 and 4 pounds. The only action we had had was on worm rigs on bottom bouncers trolled very slowly. There did not appear to be much action and the guys at the launches had pretty much the same results as we did. Saturday we fished the SLR Saturday out of Grass Pointe State Park. Had one strike which broke the line. Probably a Northern. Talked to some guys who targeted and caught some perch in Eel Bay. Our original plan was to leave Sunday morning, would not have fished anyway due to the weather. Fishing was rough, the weekend was good.
  8. I tried to look at this week. The link was there, but I received an error message when I clicked on it.
  9. Looking for a recommendation on type, size and brand of snaps used to attach stick and crankbaits for browns and walleyes. Thanks!
  10. I worked at Cabelas in Hamburg, PA in the fishing department. We had a lot of those returned broken, but we did sell a lot of them.
  11. Thanks for the information. I have a Cabelas coupon I want to use. Good fishing!
  12. Which is best for Lake Ontario browns and walleyes? Thanks.
  13. Thanks for the input. It sounds like it won't help me all that much. I was hoping to use my electric motor to troll for a few hours, run my big motor for a while to charge my batteries back up, and then continue trolling.
  14. I have a three bank onboard charger on my boat that I plug in at the dock to charge my trolling motor batteries. There is another type of charger i would like to add called an alternator charger that would charge my trolling motor batteries when I am on the water running my outboard motor. My problem is that if I want to fish all day, I have to run in and plug my boat in for a while.
  15. I am trying to add a charger that will charge my trolling motor batteries while I am running my outboard. Minnkota and others make a unit that does this.
  16. I am looking for input on one as I am considering adding one to my boat. Also, can anyone recommend a marina to do this for me? Thanks.
  17. Try the Lehigh River from the Francis E Walter Dam to "The Strip Club." They put lots of fish in that stretch. Water stays at a good temp due to releases and the hatches are good.
  18. I bought a Riviera Planer Board Mast with the spring loaded automatic reels this spring. It has worked very well so far. You just drive the boat slowly towards the board as the reel automatically takes up the slack. So far so good.
  19. Launched at Stony on Sunday. It was a bit tricky with my 18 foot Skeeter. I would not recommend it unless you know it very well. No action at all.
  20. Thanks for the replies. We did not do very well, but did learn a lot. We tried around Pt. Salubrious and Cherry Island Saturday. There were a lot of boats. We met some great guys at the Chaumont launch Saturday at lunch and they gave us some great tips also. They had a livewell full of big walleyes from 7-10 pounds. We fished Oneida, Chaumont and Henderson. Caught some nice perch and some small keeper walleyes. Also a few smallies, one over 20 inches, along with some pickerel. We had enough action to keep it very intersting. I loved it. Can't wait to get back.
  21. We are going up for the weekend. Anyone having any luck with the browns or walleyes? We are fairly new to this game. Any tips would be welcome!
