The language seems to say that in order to be "commercially processed" it needs to be labeled with 4 items: the packager/processor name, species name, quantity, and curing process. It mentions nothing about having to be bought or sold.
I'll try to copy and paste it when I get some time on the computer.

Thanks for the info.
How long to you leave them in the salt before freezing?

I got some minnow cure and am going to have a go at making some salted minnows.
We tend to catch a bunch of minnows early in the season and some go to waste, so I figure if I am getting good numbers, I'd try salting some. Then vacuum seal and freeze to bring home to fish the streams of the Catskills and lower Hudson valley area.
Anybody in the practice of curing minnows? Any tips, suggestions, or tricks are greatly appreciated.

I have a cottage on the east end available that time of year.
Cottage rental outside Sackets Harbor
I drive just under 300 miles myself to be there!

When we left Tuesday it was still closed, due to road work. The water is up into the parking lot a good 10ft onto the blacktop. We drove down into muskellunge bay there were docks under the water.
I launched there Saturday... did they closed it for the week?? The water was in the lot then. When we launched the pier was an inch above the water line. When we got back only the cleats were showing.

Lmao! Good point Fox!!! Thought you might of meant something about the swivel and guides... I didn't mention that I split an 1000' spool onto two reels, used 40# backing to take up some space, swivel, then 500' of wire. You're totally right about seeing it after 1000' though!!!

Your in big trouble if that swivel ever gets to your guides! Lol

Edited original post.. added interior pics. Only thing I forgot to get a pic of was the covered back deck.
Bunk beds not changed out yet, as mentioned in previous comment. Should change them mid-June.

I've tied 40# mono backing on the reel and used a #8 spro swivel (50# strength) to attach mono and wire. The swivel is small enough to run through guides.

They are poorly marked in Stoney right now... the buoys are under water due to the elevated levels. I went out of there Sunday AM and some barely are sticking out, some are submerged. Watch out going through there. Tons of big debris out there. High water levels are picking up everything off the shore line that typically has not been touchable... it's a mine field out there.

Thanks for the first hand update. I was just going with what I know from last season. Not sure where I'll launch this weekend, but can't wait to get up there!

Thanks LC,
You say stay inside the buoys?....Are both sides of the channel to the lake marked?
Egoody
The channel is marked well. Yes both sides are marked. I go out of there in an 18' Trophy through July into August without a problem.

And I totally wanted to launch around 4:30 and get set up in the dark... doesn't seem like that's a good idea at all! Darn it!

Pap... where's this place you call Laker Land? Not trying to burn a spot, just wondering. I'm still well within the learning curve out deep and the more options I have the better! Lol!

Bedford is between Sackets and Henderson on route 3. It's right across from the small golf course.
Search for Bedford Creek Marina and Campground in Google Maps or whichever mapping program you prefer.
Give them a call and let them know when you want a slip, early season is usually pretty open. There's a channel to follow like Stony launch, shallow sand bars, but with that water level all should be good.

Yeah, Todd, Bedford will have plenty of spots. I've known Jerry since before he owned it. Have kept my boat there here and there. Slips for $12 a night ain't to shabby! Just not sure if I wanna stay mobile or slip it. I got a few days to decide! Lol.

I'm planning on going up next Friday. Will most likely launch in Sackets, fingers crossed it's open. If not, then I'll launch out of Bedford Creek or Westcotts if it's not open for the season yet.
Also, may decide on getting a slip at Bedford for the weekend. Gotta talk to my mate and see what he's thinking.
And if the wind is suppose to be up, may even launch in Chaumont.
Can you tell my mind is going all over the place? [emoji15] It's gonna be a loooooong week of work! 🤣

Thanks for the report. My parents said the water was high, but the pics really show it. Funny to see an incline on the dexter ramp!!! Never seen that before! Haha
And when I got my trophy and ran though the cut the first time.... clang clang clang clang went my antennae on every eye beam. Ugh! Everything comes down for me now!!!

I'll be up Friday the 5th, some time around noon. Get the camp open and load the boat for eyes! Really can't wait!!!
