  1. Yeah sweet smallies. I remember last early July the bowfins were everywhere in Meadow Cove and the south end, and they like spinnerbaits. Had no idea what they were and had to google it. Got into a couple that luckily fell off right at the boat so I didn't have to haul them in, lol. They are weird looking fish, but pretty cool they are an ancient species.

  2. Was out fishing the bay Saturday and today, it was considerably slower than last weekend. Bunch of smaller bass and pike, but one 5lb smallie today....with only one eye, at that. That was pretty cool, and I do believe my personal best smallmouth.

I know I'm giving bass reports to trolling guys who could probably care less but I just like talking about Fair Haven, lol..

  3. I bought a travel cover for my 17' Lund Rebel from iboats.com or whatever. Paid around 350 for the one that wasn't the highest end but better than middle of the road. It pretty much sucks as far as fit is concerned. You'd think if a company is making a cover for your specific model boat then they'd take into consideration that a trolling motor comes standard on practically every Lund. So my cover doesn't fit over the trolling motor properly. It's also pretty baggy at the corners of the stern/transom. I bungee it down and make it work fine, but I'll never buy another cover from them again.

I contacted them and they wanted me to send it back, then they stopped answering my questions and it pretty much got swept under the rug. To be fair it's about as much of my fault as it is theirs since I didn't just send it back.

  4. Thanks for this thread, I just found and read the whole thing. I bought my first boat last year, a very lightly used 2010 17' Lund. Tracker was high up on my list, but the horror stories of hull problems resonated in me a bit too much to feel comfortable getting a used one. In the end I could've bought a new Tracker for what I spent on the used Lund but I don't regret it.

Sorry to hear of this frustrating experience. How has it been so far this season? Also......that's a sweet looking rig, I must say.

  5. They work pretty good actually but I only buy them at Field and Stream when they are buy one get one free. AND I'm not buying the $15-$20 ones, I'm using the $10 crayfish ones at two for one so it's not that bad....still don't like losing them though. The lipless cranks are good too but the store hasn't gotten any more in. Caught probably 20 fish on one before it eventually got wrapped around a log.

  6. I have a Motorguide trolling motor I am pricing to sell - not looking to make money on it I just want to get rid of it since I've upgraded. This came on my 2010 17' Lund Rebel. 36 pound thrust, pedal controlled, 45" shaft

    $75

Motor works fine, but is missing a piece that helps stabilize the shaft when in the water. I can't find the part on their website for sale but there is a picture of it. I have not tried much beyond that to get this part. It is a small half circular shaped rubber piece that cradles the shaft. West Marine is able to get motorguide parts and told me to bring in the other half of the missing piece, I just havent.

Also comes with a spare prop, and will include all the 8 gauge wiring I had on my boat for it.

I can add pics later if anyone's interested.
