  1. It's a 98 but the guy we bought it from was definitely around in the time period the thing was made! Sent from my Z983 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. Hi everybody! So my dad and I were going through our boat and in the way back of a compartment found what I have attached in this post... From what I can tell I think it is a navy life jacket from sometime just post WWII... Does anybody know exactly what it is? And if so does anybody want to buy it? 8. Better then he Richard Head I had on the bay once... I'm fishing from a dock... bass fishing... And this guy on his boat, using hi TROLLING MOTOR! Comes in right where I'm fishing perpendicular to me. For Christ sakes! When I'm on my boat I try to give at minimum 50 yards... Do what the guys in the ocean do... 80 lb braid with five ounces and just rip it across there lines (DONT THROW WEIGHTS AT PEOPLE)
  9. If anybody needs an observer let me know! Send me a text or call 585-503-8048

    New PB?

here is my 6.25 lb fish from 2 falls ago for reference. The one from today is definitely thicker but not quite as long

    New PB?

This was caught where catch and release season applies... He was every bit of 6 and my personal best is/was 6.25. He came on a white chatter bait with a chartreuse head. A few extra ounces came from the bluegill whos tail was sticking out of his throat! The next post will have my 6.25 lb fish as a reference!
  13. Will most likely buy... ill let you know for sure tomorrow
  14. Another bit of advice is to try and link up with a team and observe for tournaments... You will pick up some of the best tricks watching some of the best fish!
  15. Fishing in a tournament but don't want to give up a member of your team to observe? Well that's where I come in! Ill go any where in the state to observe... The tournament season is getting close... Don't be forced to give up one of your team members! Shoot me a PM if you need me!
  16. It not like I'm shooting at motion... Its a stand that's in a swamp with a bunch of scrub brush and bushes. The shots will be down towards the ground and if not I have a hill as a back stop
  17. I'm 6ft 250 lbs... I love guns with recoil! My buddy had a box of 3 and a half inch magnums he didn't want so I just want out and shot them for fun! But with that being said I will be putting a recoil pad on it
  18. Its for getting through the really thick stuff... And when you hit one with it from what ive read they don't go far
  19. Ill have a pic of a 12 point shot with a 45-70 up next fall
  20. And thanks for reply... All the people that say its overkill have no problem using ounce and a half slugs and none have actually shot a deer or seen one shot with a 45-70
  21. For sure lever action! I was between a henry and a marlin... In the I'm going with marlin because the fact that its side loading. The tube mag on the henry is a major turn off... So I'm going with a marlin 1895 with the big loop and a 18.5" barrel
  22. So I'm going to most likely be buying a 45-70 at the end of this week... I want a big gun that I can use in the southern tier where I can have 150 yard shots one second and then 20 yard shots in super thick brush... and I mean super thick! From what ive read these people that talk about a 45-70 being super overkill have never killed a deer with one... So, with that being said, can people who have shot a deer with a 45-70 give me some input? Also, where I will be hunting I can only shoot bucks and per land owner requests only decent sized bucks so this will not be for filling the freezer
  23. Looks like another massive shad kill
