  3. Calm foggy morning out of the oak! Went 12-12 on browns with 2 10+ pounders. All west between the mouth and lakeside state park. Water is 45° and we fished 8-13 fow. Best lite today was blue/silver 4” rapala. Also stinger scorpion spoons killed again! (One of the Big boys was on one. Question 1. I only had red hooks to replace the bent and broken ones. Is there a pro or con to them? Hasn’t seemed to effect the bite. Question 2. I have almost a 1mph speed difference between my fish hawk and my gps speed. Is this common Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  6. Why not fish everyday? Hahaha we had a choppy lake with winds out of the north. But the bite was on! It was just me and my son so Landing fish and keeping the boat straight was a challenge! But we went 7-8 with a 15+lb king! (Scale bottomed out so we ordered a new digital one on amazon) caught the king in 11 fow on a blk and silver scorpion spoon. And a couple big brown on a bright spoon on a small diver behind the boat. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  8. Another awesome morning! Great to get my son out!! (Thank you corona) we went 14-15 all browns. Couple were around the 8-9 lb mark but most were cookie cutter. We caught almost all of them on blk and silver 4” or 5” stick rapala. We also caught a few on 2 colors of lead core and a blk and silver Michigan stinger scorpion spoon. Only other lure that took fish was 4” blue and silver rapala. We caught all west of the river. 10-13 fow. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  14. Took my dad out for a couple hours this morning at Sandy, first time out this year! No docks yet which made launching "fun" The water was warm! 48-49 degrees on the surface (maybe from south wind?) we only managed one football brown... got it on a 4" chartreuse bay rat. 10' fow west of the mouth. Anybody else fishing at Sandy? Any success? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. Hey! There you are I couldn't remember how you spell your handle on here! Hope you are doing well and catching fish!
  16. Took the kids for our first ever trip to honeoye lake. What a beautiful place! We caught 3 large mouth early and then tried to find some "huge bluegills" we had a hard time finding big ones but caught caught a few keepers and by 9:00 we were swimming we will definitely be back! Thanks to the people at the dock, and on LOU, that pointed us in the right direction.
  17. Wow! This is great info! Thanks a lot for the help! We have a great starting point now. I will post tomorrow with a report.
  18. Hi! I have never fished the finger lakes... (Just got a small boat last year) and I spend most of my time in Lake Ontario chasing chrome. My kids 10, 8, 6, get board with it. So we have been trying fish for bass and pan fish. We went up to the islands last week and did really well and they LOVED IT! I saw this post, and was thinking of trying to head down to honeoye tomorrow morning for a few hours . Any pointers you'd be willing to share would be greatly appreciated! We are planning on launching at the state launch. And that's about it. Lol. Thanks for any advise! Ben
  19. Went out this morning, tons of boats. All spread out! Marked tons of bait. 60'-100' Had 1 screamer on a dipsy out 150, in 90' but he got off. Only other fish was a skippy around 9am on a rigger down 60 over 160. Anybody else do anything? I don't have much in the way of flashers and flies, or spin doctors. (I have one of each) I was going to get more is there a color I should start with? If I run them off dipsys how far back should they be? What a great morning in Lake Ontario even if we didn't catch many fish!
  20. So I'm embarrassed to say that I'm not really familiar either the geographical references you guys use lol. The three I got were between 200-230'
  21. I hate being "that guy" asking the dude at the dock to reveal his strategy... Lol my dad is shameless and normally does that for me:) but he was busy riding his motorcycle (he's got his priorities screwed up). So it was a solo trip. Next time I'll ask! Thanks
  22. Fished tonight out of sandy. Trolled north from 100'-250' and back in. Didn't mark much of anything. Caught 3 skippys 2 on riggers down 60 and one on a wire dipsy. Nice night on the water!
  23. Thanks for the replies! I have never been to Johnsons creek. I will try next time I'm out. Do I just motor over there from oak orchard? I need to go after the lakers when it's slow. I've never used the cow bells. I'm pretty new to fishing in more then 10' of water. (Second year with a boat) Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  24. I have been fishing out of sandy Creek, and it has been a little slow so we thought we would broaden our horizons and try "the oak". Weather was awesome! Sunny, chilly, and a Little chop,. Decent color in the water. We fished a variety pack of rapalas, jr thundersticks, and bombers, and a couple spoons for good measure. We worked 10-20 fow. Went west first to lakeside state park, and then back east a ways past the breaker wall. From 6-9am. NOTHING! Not a strike. Too bad cause I had a couple kids with me, and they burned through the pop tarts and juice boxes pretty quick with no distractions lol. Anybody been having success there and whatcha using? 25. Had one hit before the sun was up. And that was it. Very clear and calm. Bailed by 8:00 Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
