This could happen to all of us. We have all been cut off and lost gear. We all enjoy bringing less experienced people with us fishing and on occasion they have to drive the boat while we set gear. I admit I used to have a hot temper when I first started fishing but I have learned one thing about fishing. You can never be mad if your on the lake. I am sure it was a mistake. On a side note where do I get me some of those Reel Rage spoons. Please pm.

  2. So I just got off the phone with Corey. He was out with buddies today and had a guy who was inexperienced driving because he was rigging the back of the boat. He said he's sorry if it ruined your day but it was an accident if anything. The situation doesn't exactly stick out in his head however he does remember a little crestliner taking a couple pictures and figures that was probably the situation. I will vouge for him aswell that he does have class while he is driving a boat and would never intentionally run over someone's lines and always gives them plenty of room. In my opinion he actually is sometimes over cautious and is more generous than most guys I've fished with.

  3. Ok so I actually First Mate for Black dog adventures which is the boat in the picture. This is not "Reel Rage" charter Reel Rage is a spoon manufacturer who is a stand up guy that we run alot of his products. I was not on the boat today so I don't know the situation however you really should get your facts straight before trying to play keyboard warrior..

  4. Going to be a good turn out this year! If you're thinking about fishing and want me to mail out an entry form the last day I'll be mailing entry forms out is Monday 7/27. After that date if you want to enter you'll have to go to the South Seneca Sportsman's Club or meet up with myself or Dylan to register! This it to keep from receiving late entries by mail would hate to turn someone away do to receiving an entry after the cut off on 8/6. Thank you all!

Can we pay through PayPal or some other means remotely? I don’t want to drive the 2 hours just to pick up the sign-up sheet but I would love to fish the tournament.

Do you have paypal? If not could you post an address to send a check to, or should i just text one of the numbers on the form for an adress?

Send a text of your address to 6074268426 and I will send you a copy of a registration form by mail. Then you can mail it back to the return address on the envelope filled out with the entry fees of everyone that will be on the boat. Please let me know if paying with a check in text message and I will let you know who to make it out to so we can cash it to add the funds to the prize pool. Thanks

  6. I also agree to stay away from roller rods unless you're going to shell out coin for really good ones. Personally I like the regular okuma great lakes rods with a twilly tip. But you do have to replace them every few seasons as they can get grooves from the wire but they are super cheap to do so at about 30 a rod. Haven't tried the taloras yet but they are pricey too

  7. Bump for a great tournament! Awesome tournament that usually has a great turn out! Also has an awesome chicken BBQ thanks to the sportsman's club and great raffles and donations! Get ahold of me to sign up asap and I can even mail you an entry form and you can mail it back if we can't get together to meet up or you're unable to make it to the sportsman's club to register! Hope to see you all there aswell as some fresh faces!

Nice report and congrates on a sucessful trip. Hemlock is one of my favoriates - the tranquility makes it worth the time even if the fish don't bite.

What's your secret for getting browns ? They never cooperate when I'm targeting them.

This one hit a 5 color leadcore with a small Michigan stinger scorpion spoon in a perch pattern. No real secret but I suppose it was in the right water. What's the average size of the bows over there? Alot of them seemed to run Small

  9. Tried a change of scenery for father's day as my dad has been wanting to go there for some time and enjoy being able to fish as we fall into the size and motor restrictions. Launched around 545 at the south end. Had to back in until my front tires were in the water and still had to get in and wade until I could push the boat off the trailer, no big deal. However went to start motor and no dice. I have a 2010 Yamaha 9.9 and for some time now it seems that every season I have an issue with the carb. However last year I learned how to take care of it myself and a half hour later I had it tore out and apart and back together and we fired right up. Motored up the lake to the deep water which had alot of floating weeds and set up. Took around 20 rainbows with only 7 being of legal length. Released all of them. All rainbows came on small spoons such as stinger scorpions. Leadcores were best with a few fish on riggers and a few on dipsys. In the mix the 5 color went and my son got to reel in a decent brown. Around 11 we still didn't have a Laker yet and I've had a goal for some time to catch a Laker out of all the fingers that contain them so we went out to 90ft and I dropped stuff near bottom and put a rigger ball carrying cowbells and a gambler rig in the mud. A bit later the cowbells fired with a 3.5-4lb Laker. Not much and could definitely have caught bigger elsewhere however there's a check mark on my list so I was happy! Thanks Brian Gambell! If you're looking to explore and have a boat smaller than 16ft with a motor under 10hp take the adventure for a beautiful fishery!
