  1. Wife saw one on the road going around hyde lake at the muck on friday
  2. I have always been partial to Rocky Marsden Fish Crisp, if you can find it. It is. Canadian product but i believe in the sttes it is the mcormick brand. Another trick i do, put your fillets in pan of water, than squeeze the water out of the filets, repeat until water comes out clear, about three times. Fish filets seem to be firmer and no fishy taste
  3. Wow. That is strange. Cataracts?
  4. Sounds like a hungry muskie to me
  5. Kevin, saw a post whete rather than filet, cut head off gut and scale, fry the whole fish
  6. I just talked with people that fished bridge at Ogdensburg, sunken ship and starch factory. Said lots of people from NY fishing Canadian waters with no troubles. Never saw any law from Canada on the water. Fishing was very slow. People think the fish may have already spawned
  7. I would trust border services more than transport Canada. Border services is in charge of the border.
  8. Thank you for the clarification. I would have thought your government would have spent more time clarifying that statement. My brilliant legal mind also interprets that statement as being directed toward Residents of Canada. Time will tell
  9. Soooo, is there any actual statement supporting this banner?
  10. 😊. I am not giving legal advice, just stating my opinion. BTW. I am well aware where the border line is located, i was speaking generally.
  11. I still think it only applies to when you are landing. I.e. How are they going to deny you entry if you float across an imaginary line in the middle of the river? And, if you are on the water and do not touch land or anchor, you do not have to call. Will see what happens this weekend, i could be proven wrong 😊. I thought i was wrong once but i was mistaken, as they say, eh? The other issue is, it depends on what agency you talk to in Canada, like here in the states, there are inconsistencies.
  12. Kevin , i posted the same question On the qunite web site. Not ifficial, but opinion seemed to be that uf you can get your boat in the water, all their launches are closed, you can fish
  13. 😊 Glad I never did anything like this πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰
  14. Awww. Come on Kevin, you know you cant just sit at home. I imagine mr walleye is going nuts without opening weekend plans
  15. I heard launch at lisbon was closed the other day.
  16. From what i have been reading, the use of docks is included in the ban. I rent a dick from a private individual, am i banned from using the dock?
  17. And yet DEC seems to encourage fishing with their weekly report and yet in the same breth they are saying all DEC boat launches are closed through 4/29
  18. Did DEC have anything to say at their Clayton meeting regarding where "they" think they are coming from? There has always been a population of walleye in the river. Are more people actually targeting them thus more number showing up? Techniques have changed? Almost any point along the river, american or canadian side, or shoal along the channel, have walleye present. I have heard tales for years of the number of walleye seen by divers but they were mostly being caught by bass fisherman by accident, not specifically targeted. There must be some areas that they gather to spawn along the river but no one is talking .
  19. Leach Lake filet knife if you can find one. Gave one to a guide friend of mine two years ago and he uses it for his shore dinners, told me he has yet to have to sharpen
