  1. I just bought a pair of Cannon Easi Troll riggers. I need to figure out mounting, etc, but I want to see what is popular for rod setups. Length? Power? Reel size? Line counter? Line? Leader?
  2. Was out Sunday and Monday morning. Saw lots of boats in 100fow early and then moving deeper later in the morning. What was caught? I only managed a few skippys. Monday was especially slow. Blank screens much of the morning for me.
  3. Go out to 200'. 80' down or so. Marked a ton there over 4 trips in the past week. Sandy/Braddocks that is.
  4. Took the family out 5-7:30. Nice and flat. Gorgeous night. Screens weren't great. Picked up a small steelie in 200 on dipsy out 193.
  5. Took my 7yo son out of Sandy Creek 7-11a. Good screen in 170-205. Went 1 for 3. Small one, but a big experience to share. Unfortunately, we donated the landing net to the lake. In return, the lake gave us a pink tow rope wrapped around a dipsy. I didn't think it was a fair trade but my son was impressed.
  6. First time fishing Lake Ontario. Fished solo 1-5pm. No temp probe. Started in 150fow trolling north. Started seeing marks close to 200fow. Lots of marks down 70. Focused there. Had one break off. Added snubbers. Landed this guy when pulling up lines and the only one left in the water goes. Orange spoons both times.
  7. What does your spin n glow rig look like? What's TC? I will be on Seneca tomorrow morning w my 7yo son. Launching out of Geneva but meeting my in laws for a picnic in the afternoon. I'm struggling to catch fish there this year. New to trolling. Been out there 4-5 times.
  8. Anyone been trolling the north end of Seneca? Getting any better? Looking to head out Friday. Open to tips.
  9. How deep for these browns and salmon?
  10. Took my almost 7 year old out on Sunday morning north end of Seneca. First time trolling for both of us. I've jigged there for years and been reading on here about trolling with dipsys. Fished over 100'-150'. Mag dipsy (white/green) with spin doctor (white/green) and a-tom-mik fly (white) out up to 275'. Regular dipsy out various lengths 140-180' with a dreamweaver SS spoon. Tried two different color spoons. Not a single release. What are we doing wrong? Don't have a kicker, so was running main motor. GPS said 2.56mph SOG. Maybe too fast?
  11. Not sure about lakers but a handful of boats including us at the north end out of Penn Yan all catching perch in good numbers. Saw a boat with trout gear going out as we were coming in. Not sure how they did.
