  1. 3 break offs in 2 years . 1 I kind of knew of the kink but I didn't think it was that bad .

2  broke  when I popped it to change the lure . I didn't do anything extreme .

It is Mason 7 strand 30#

I'm back to braid . Never had an issue . And I catch just as many .

  2. Did the afternoon run with Ken and Brandon . Ran out to 200 and headed north . After losing the probe and weight 5 minutes in , we trudged on .

    Anyway , we were 3 for 7 hits . 3 kings , one skip.

Gary D rigs w/ white flashers  on dipsey  At 150 and 189 were the ticket taking 5 of the 7 hits . Ended the night with a double   . I dropped two nice fish .

Awesome night on the water .

Nice to go on someone else's boat and be successful on my rig

  3. I run 65 braid on one side and wire on the other . Many times the braid outfishes the wire . And after losing a diver , pro troll and the rest to probably a kink yesterday AGAIN , the wire is going in the trash , all braid . I see no difference except when the fleas are real bad , but I'll live with that .

  4. It was bumpy as all get out but it was worth it .

I will drop off a few more as you got bit off last week and a few replacement inserts .

As I recall they took the glo model .

I had a newbie and we made him reel in all the fish , which explains some of our landing percentage . But it's all good .

  5. Well I did not get into the Sandy creek shootout figuring no way could I compete with  My boat and primitive equipment .

But  We fished that morning and did quite well as we found a good pod of kings that were biting .

    We easily had a 75 # box . I don't know where we would have landed .

And we ran two rods most of the morning and were having breakfast with my wife by 930 .

  6. After a bust yesterday with a Cancel and  A guy who could only fish 2 hrs we head back out today with a double team with Coyote K .

Started in 80 with all kinds  of bait but no  hits . Decided to head out deep and glad we did . 300 ish was the best for us . 65 to 95 down . And again my braid dipsey out fished my wire . I keep hearing how much better wire is . Well , I ain't seeing it .

Went 3 for 8 . All good fish  2 hits on spoons  . The rest were white flashers and my Gary D rig I think I have finally perfected .Got bit off twice . That I need to fix .  One time this summer I did not catch a fish on it . I don't think I have the next great Salmon bait.  After 3 summers of testing I now know it .

  7. If I were you I would run one flasher each on each rigger fishing the marks

As deep as try the fish are .  25 to 35 lead 20 apart vertically .

And a mag spoon On each dipsey set on 1.5 back a long way or fish the marks

And I love my white flashers .

    White rocks .

And turn a lot ,  s curves so you lures are going the right speed at least some of the time .

  8. When we get a strong east wind for a day or two the wind pushes the surface water west while the current flows east and pulls the cold water from down deep to the surface . It can be as cold as 42 Dec  this time of year surface temp .

This is my understanding of how this happens

Fishing is bad inshore  and to find stable water you will have to go 3 to 15 miles offshore . The fishing can be quite good out there  .

I head north and drop lines when surface temp  reaches around 65  And head north .

  9. And what difference does it make if your rigger counter reads 80 and the real depth is 72 .

If you get hit when you rigger says 80  then you can adjust everything to that .

    The depth is relative

More info than you need IMO . But somebody of  you guys have to have the latest and greatest  I guess
